    Itinerary

Well, it looks like we will be going up I-5, so Fresno is on the way, maybe LOHO can ride with us through Merced, Modesto etc. I know there are a few XSives in these areas. So if you want to meet and have lunch or whatever, maybe you could suggest a place and time and maybe contact others not associated with this thread to join us. I expect that we could be in the area of Modesto around noon on June 1, 2007. We won't be rushed for time because of a real lack of destination so we have time to "side trip" whenever it seems OK.

LoHo, I would certainly appreciate any help with the logistics and I can't seem to find a way to search here for XSives in a particular area, but that may be because of my lack of knowledge too. So if you know of others in the area, spread the word.

Planedick, what is your plan for accommodations? I'll be in school at noon on the first (getting the kids ready for finals), but the 2nd works, if you're still nearby. Uncle Spot and Pat Kelly are both in and around Modesto. Pat will want to take you up to the observatory to show you what "twisted road" really means. If you're spending the night somewhere near, I'm sure an XSive or two might break bread with you.

        good idea...

We could probably find lodging close by. Not made any reservations, but I figured there would be many options in town. Staying overnight around the area is definately a possibility. We'll see how it goes.

                How many?

Right now it looks like there will be three of us. Scott on my old '79, Steve the Wiz and me.

                  Route

I think we will go up I-5 to route 41, then east to Fresno and up 99 from there. Probably arriving in Modesto Fri afternoon or early evening. I'm planning on setting a more leisurely pace than I normally do. Maybe we will get a chance to look right and left as we go instead of going over 100 MPH as I usually do. We got plenty of time.

Maybe Pat Kelly will chime in and let us know if he is gonna lead us on a nice twistie ride Sat AM and then we could terriorize some resturant for food and grog.

I figure all day Sunday should get us over the mountains and down into Bishop for the night and then down 398 on Monday going home.

                    Sat ride...

Well, I see another thread from Pat that says he is having to work for 25 straight days then get canned, so I would venture a guess that he will not be available for rides or dinner. Besides that he doesn't seem to have a running bike either. I sure wish I was closer as I'm very skilled in finding electrical problems. That's what I do for a living and I could find and fix his problem so he could at least get to ride to work.

Anyone else know of a good ride we could take to get an appetite for dinner? Also a favorible place to eat that will put up with us.

                      Sat morning ride....

I'm thinking we could get together Sat AM for a ride somewhere, lunch and still everyone could get back before dark. Maybe someone could suggest a meeting place where all those interested could get to rather easily. Somewhere between SF and Modesto maybe?

If I knew who was interested and where they are......and if they are interested in a group ride or just want us to stop by on the way through, or even would rather we just blew on by. Decisions, decisions, decisions, not my strong point I guess, maybe it just goes back to the way I go somewhere, I know where I'm going, but route and time is subject to change without notice. LOL I am looking forward to the ride though. Can you tell?

                        Hi planedick

Might get with Pat or Ron as they both know Modesto.
Would imagine Pat's MNS will be up and running XSpecially if problem is just the engine kill switch.
