She loves to ride pillion, but is holding out for a new helmet and jacket. Something tells me she'll get her way next week.

I mostly ride solo. My anchor (oops, better half) doesnt like to ride anymore. But every now and then one of my daughters will want a ride.

I like that post: "She used to ride with me, until she got that ring on her finger" ...that same thing happened to me 10 yrs ago.
...now that we're getting a divorce maybe I can finally get a "date" that'll get on the back of my XS11 (?)
I've never had a passenger on this bike yet, and I've had it almost FIVE YEARS!!!
'just got back from the CAL XS11 rally and plan on riding a LOT more this summer (and not ALL solo)

Ride alone,
Wife never been on one and won't even get on one when it's parked in the driveway.
I think she would like to ride if she would try it but it's a matter of principle now, to try it and like it would mean that she was wrong for years and that isn't going to happen.
A friend of mine said that his wife wasn't sure if she would like to ride and once she did he couldn't get her off the back.
Sometimes it is just better to leave things as they are

Sure notice the difference when theres a good corider on the back , nothin worse when your passenger is movin all over the place like a wildcat trapped in a phone booth. Bruce

Single for me, the wifey wouldn't go for a ride if I begged her,.....not that I would. I prefer ridin solo, So now she doesnt have a choice, less she wants to do some fender ridin!

The wife has made it VERY clear that she won't ever be on the back of any bike. Guess that gives me the all clear to get a single seat and make it faster!

I'm mostly one up on my bike and I must admit that I prefer it that way. My GF is not into biking as much as I am.

Do you also drive seperate cars? I see more auto accidents where 2 or more occupants die than motorcycle accidents where both die. (I work at a trauma center).

Hey Pat:

We car pool when we can, since it is 115 mile round trip and driving 2 cars gets a bit costly. SWMBO works about 2 blocks away from me so it works OK. However, she works part-time (generally 3 days a week) so on Mondays and Fridays I can ride the XJ to work...

At one point my brother, SWMBO's brother and father, SWMBO's brother-in-law and sister, and I all had bikes, so it was not uncommon to see a bunch of us out with every bike carrying a passenger, SWMBO behind me and her mother behind her father, plus my brother and his GF and SWMBO's sister behind her BIL. Of that group I am the only one left riding. I miss having her on back at times, but for the most part I prefer being out solo.
