I hear ya!!! chekus I have the same issues. Most of the people that give anyone crap only have about 3,000 miles of fair-weather riding on their polished, chromed, eat off of the rocker-boxes scoots. I will stick with mine. I think that the guys who give people crap are really the ones that are scared anyway. The ones that you have to watch out for are the quite ones sitting in corner.

but then again, I own mine
That was pretty good, Brian. Truer words never spoken.
watch out for are the quiet ones sitting in corner.
Are they being punished for something, Parrothead?
I don't know... and I sure don't mean to include any of ya'll in this statement...
But I view people with Harley emblem jackets and such the same as I view a thirteen years old girl with pants that HAVE to have the designer label showing.
Now, that's not to say that I go around looking at thirteen year old girls(unless they look older and say they're 18), but...
It's like the shirts I steal from the racks at work.
"HHmm... nice shirt.. it's black...", but the first thing I do is grab a razor and slice off the Kawa, Triumph, or Joe Rocket labels.
As a role model, cultural icon and fashion trend-setter, I feel that the corporate world should pay for the privilege of having their rags adorn my Adonis body... and pay well!
Wearing an XS patch though is different, as we all know.
This is an outward sign... of our inward manliness.

Well the thing is ....to me ... a Bike is a Bike..If your on 2 wheels well thats all that matters.

Who wants to play into the hands of corprate copywriters who come up with steriotypical commercials to sell merchandise.

My Xs11 still outruns any Harley......

I show up at a many of the local hangouts with my Navy Flight Jacket (with a conspicuous Yamaha Patch, still need an XS patch). As long as I'm cool, they're cool. Most of them see the Battle Cruiser for what it is, a work of Two Wheeled Love and respect that. I still have trouble getting them to keep up though...

I went, for over a decade, to Ride for Sight, and other rallies with my Old Bike club patch on my bike (read 'club' not 'gang') . Every year the local outlaw biker groups would bug me about the patch, and I would tell them the club no longer existed, I just wore the colors for that one event.

Eventually, my friends got too nervous so they bought me a Honda Eagle patch ( I had the Shadow at that time) to replace the old Iron League patch.

It never bothered me, and only ever got into one fight, in a bar in Edmonton, for wearing the emblem.

I rode my Honda to many Harley outings. It ended up on the covers of a couple of the local Harley club magazines.

It's when the cops are out video taping everyone coming and going from a party that you realize you may be in the wrong crowd...

As my ex girlfreind used to say, the biker guys don't bother me a bit, but those girls scare me....

                  Go for it!

What the hell, go for it! After all most Harley riders nowadays are dentist and lawyers. No offense to any dentist or lawyers riding an XS (thats my disclaimer for any lawyers). Midnight, your profile says you are a fork lift driver.....sounds like an even match to me. Besides, probably any heated discussion would only break out into beers.

Even the organized crime bike gangs have other bikes than Harleys, these days. You'll find more than a couple crotch rockets in thier garages.

Of course they all have thier Harley for weekends and outings, but for serious business you may need something faster, more maneuverable and ahem, reliable!
