  • Gentleman, I was not offended by SiP

I have no issue with Sip, no need to apologize. Thanks , though, for the consiliatory gesture.
I was actually responding to Bud Manleys response, where he quotes me:
"There is not question about that.
But it will not do humans or other species any good, if it does not have a habitat anymore", and then he proceeds with:
"Your absolutely correct. We should all embrace the realistic goal of defeating corporate America and its sinister plans to destroy our precious earth by allowing the people to rise up and fight this oppression and by Punishing anyone who disagrees.

To that comeback I stated that I do not see any connection between what I have been quoted for, and his response.
Unless he is jumping to conclusions, or is assuming that those are the logical conclusions to my thought, there was no relation.
However, you are right that I must not take it seriously, and I do not. I do admit that my response was a quick reaction, because it seemed to me that my point had been deliberately distorted, and therefore I consider it hype, as per definition.
I am not even close to losing my sense of humor in general, but patience for that kind of foolishness is an acquired virtue, and not always readily available.

I now recognize that this forum is not interested in actually compare notes, but seems to be largely geared towards making environmentalists look foolish.
Hence, to continue to contribute to this semi-discussion is akin to pissing into the wind. No sweat of my butt, just a bit disappointing.......

    • It's awfully easy to be offended when you are emotionally vested in your opinion. This is the state of the AGW "discussion", where fact and the scientific method have been thoroughly abused and finally discarded. Anthropogenic global warming is a joke, an attempt by socialists to control our free society. It is a house of cards, and as such is beginning to fold as we speak. I'll no longer be pulling any punches here. If you believe that humans are causing global warming then you must be:
      a) an idiot
      b) a communist/socialist bent on redistributing wealth
      c) a Kool-Aid drinker
      d) all of the above

The correct answer is d: all of the above.

The farce will end in the next five years. Much like the impending ice age forecasted by "the entire scientific community" in the mid 70's.

Gosh, I wonder why the XS wasn't jetted for the inevitable sub zero temperatures? Must be a bunch of idiots at Yamaha. The "science was settled" thirty years ago! It hasn't been over 40 degrees in central NY in the last decade... Idiots. Go warm yourself by the natural gas lampposts lining algore's driveway. They burn 24/7. Or maybe you can keep warm off the PWM DC drive of algore's kid's hybrid. The car runs on weed and speed, if I'm not mistaken.

Actually its mostly about motorcycles I thought.

As far as making environmentalists look foolish thats really unnecessary. Just remember, according to your self described belief nothing we say or think matters because we're all doomed.

I hate liberals ever so much.

Here is a little article , very scientific, honestly, on which we probably all can agree on :

                      • Thus my "Throw the virgin in the volcano" analogy.

May I offer my ex wife? Oh, *&$%, wait, that won't work. How about "Throw the Nasty Old Slut in the Volcano"? How's this for hijacking the thread?

Seriously, my two cents is that Global warming is bad science simply based on Sampling. We have accurate temperature records for what, about one hundred twenty years in some cases, way less in others. The earth is how many hundreds of milliions of years (Maximan, chime in here)? Let's say 450 million, just for arguments sake. So, the percentage of sampling is? If my calculator doesn't lie to me and I transposed the digits right (I was an English Major), the percentage is .00000000000027.

I don't know about you, but I'd not bet the farm on anything based on way less than one percent of the data.

give me facts to mull over, not emotional appeals, crying and name calling. It didn't work when my wife tried, why should it have any effect on me now

That is one of the funniest albeit true statements I've heard in quite a while. This GW is pretty much dead, so I won't crank the heater back up on it, just had to throw in my .02 on your comment. It will be copied and abused regularly.
