We are about 15 miles from Arlington. Very easy to get to from here.

        True, Dat!

I'll have to see if I can come up with a Barnett set by then. SWMBO may have me do it before then!

My list of things to do to Scorpion, or as John calls her, "Pack Mule" keeps getting longer and longer...

          Okay... I'm pushing for March

and Czekus21... I am not opposed to arranging another get together around Memorial day if things work out well with this one. Something tells me that several people would be willing to make as many as possible... so we'll play it by ear.

Here's the deal... John is on vacation from March 15 - 23... my birthday is Wednesday the 21st (ahhhhh... see? there WAS a reason for that particular time)... also celebrating a belated B-day for skippy344...
Presents not required... your presence is enough...

Soooooo... if possible... people start arriving Tuesday, March 20 or Wednesday... work on bikes/ admire/ party Wednesday and Thursday... ride on Friday.... stick around and head out Saturday if you desire...

          Opinions? Suggestions?

Anyone who needs to crash at our place... PM me ASAP... If you need hotel/ motel info... I can get that too... just let me know...

If you know what you are doing and have at least four hands, big bore could be done in a day (provided the jugs are already bored).

Clutch kit, w/ springs could be done easily in an hour as long as no one gets over excited putting the star back on....and of course the fibers have soaked long enough

I think my fibers are well soaked, thank you.

Hafta see how this clinic thing plans out. By my calculations of progressive clutch slip, by then I will only be able to hit 4k lightly before slippage occurs.

Could be an idea for one of the '07 rallies though.

I would kinda like to see a bore kit goe in. I have to say that it would be cool. I volunteer my hands if you need an extra set. I am always willing to help out because I love these cycles.

why wasn't this called "the Meeting of the Texas XSive Minds" ?
...it does appear there are more XSive riders in TX than in any other state.

Everytime we try to get *any*thing going out here in "Can'tAffordYa" the most we can muster is 5 or 6 riders (and that's with MONTHS of planning). I guess things have radically changed since I started riding back in the early '70s - a few riders (5-12) would be sitting around on Thursday or Friday and someone would say, "Hey, let's drive 750 miles up to Portland Oregon, or 750 miles down to Flaggstaff, AZ" and we'd just pack a bag of clothes and GO... now, it seems you can't get ONE other rider to go 50 miles! ...too many other things to do/take care of.

...almost enough to make me move to Texas so I can ride again...
(I was stationed at Carswell AFB in Ft.Worth back in '78/'79 and 'was always riding to Austin or Dallas for music, over to New Orleans for food, or down to Mexico for 'TaKillYa')

Spot, in the 70s, you were in your twenties, so being gone for a couple of days wasn't a problem for anyone. Now you have a job, wife/wives, kid/kids, all of whom expect you to take care of their needs as well. I'm sure that there are twenty-somethings on here right now who could throw a leg over and head out anywhere they wanted, until the money ran out, just like you did. In twenty years, they'll be moaning about the slings and arrows of being grown up, too. Ahh, those were the days!

Well, I am young and dumb so I have found it that I end up riding around for no reason, days at a time. The good thing is, I don't have to ride anywhere. Even if it was all the way across the state, I would show up. I guess I am luck that I am still in my "good times", even though they hardly seem like it.

Well, I wanna go, but I think all my vacation is spoken for until after july.

If not, though, then any date is fine. It will be something of a trip, though.
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

why wasn't this called "the Meeting of the Texas XSive Minds"
Because I didn't want anyone to get their feelings hurt...

That's why I put it out this early... so people in places like... ohhhh... I don't know... California, for instance... can make vacation plans.

If you have to convince the family... there is Six Flags close by... great museums... arts districts in both Fort Worth and Dallas... Wax Museum and Ripley's Believe It or Not and a ton of other activities so they will have something to do while you're being XSive...
We are VERY centrally located... everything is within 20 miles or so...

Looks like it will be the week in March... just not sure if it will be the front end of that week or the back end (of the week)...

                                WildKat,
At least ONE of us from California HAS made it out there. We do have a nice little ralley here at the end of the summer. Labor day weekend in South Lake Tahoe!
I know of one rider who keeps earning the "long distance" award, riding from Oaklahoma.
