Hi guys,
instead of ruining somebody elses topic I will introduce myself. I Have been trying for years to register to this forum but technically something did not work that well. Never got a conformation, but this week miraculously everything went ok. Should have something to do with my new computer.
Well, my name is Math Huskens from the Netherlands. 50 years old, riding XS1100's from when I was 22 years old.
Former president of the former Dutch XS1100 club which died soon after me and my friends left the board for the younger generation a couple of years ago. My friend Ferry Labbé is now rebuilding the Dutch site having this and the UK site as an example (xs1100.com). There will be no club anymore as we no longer have the time to support it.
Owner of the XS1100 Turbo (purchased new in 1982) which I have seen passing by in several of your topics over the past years.
I'll put down some pics for details, but the bike has been altered slightly afterwards before travelling to the UK meeting (Öhlins monoschock and some small things.
Okay then, here it comes fromt front to rear:
FZR1000 USD front fork with KAD monoblock sixpacks, YZF750 discs, 140 front tire, Phoenix wheel 3,5x17 , RGV250 front mudguard widened, YZF750 handlebars with milled oil reservoirs.
Honda SP-1 clocks, RB fuel ratio gauge, gastank widened to accept 36 liters in stead of 24, double pingel fuelcocks, return line for DFI.
Engine now stock except for 6:1 in stead of 9.2:1 comp. Aerocharger (max 15 psi, integrated waste gate, variable vanes, own oil reservoir) fitted with handmade manifold and doublesided intercooler. New oil filter base plate with integrated thermostat and outlets for cooler and for car type filter. Intake side has an altered Kawasaki 750 turbo DFI set-up with 1100 injectors, welded-shut airbox. Mounted on airbox are two waste gate/ intake membrane combinations from a Yamaha 650 turbo. Engine management (fuel and ign) is TEC from Electromotiv and is PC programmable. Power output was 220 (european) hp, torque 303 Nm / 1900 rpm (I have no clue what that is in US numbers.....) last time it was on the dyno. The alternator has been replaced by a FZR1000 one with a belt drive. Clutch actuation is hydraulic.
Footrests and controls are handmade in combination with some Kawasaki and Ducati parts.
Exhaust is titanium from Bos, sound is social. Not loud at all.
Seat is mono from a YZF750SP and covers the Bosch fuel pump and filter, the R1 battery and the Electromotiv. Swingarm and shaft(drive) are from a Yamaha FJR1300 fitted with a CBR900 top brace but now at the bottam and a GSXR1100 shock mount welded to it. Shock on the pics is from a 1999 R1, now replaced with an Öhlins for the same. Rear wheel is also a Phoenix wheel 6x17, originally for a GSXR1100 but with the cushdrive modified to accept the Yamaha drive, and fitted with a 210x17 rear tire, rear brake is GSXR1100, caliper is from an R1 modified to fit.
Well, that was a mouth full. I also have a couple of other bikes but i will not bother you with that apart from the fact that one of them is a black 1980 2H9 with 17000km which I recently bought in Austria to make it as new (still looking for a set of original exhausts, anyone? )
My girlfriend rides the black special with the 3 -spokers.
Have fun!
