Well... ya caught me! See.. with the heels.. I am trying to get that "Uplifting experience" to TC's level! But I have to admit... that the fishnets just don't look as hot over hairy legs! lol. Plus... at 250 lbs or so, it doesn't take long for my 4" heels to become flats! lol
I did have to take the little tassles off my handlebars though... the leather lightly whipping me was just too much!!!LMAO!

At Halloween when you wear that outfit with the 4" spike heels and fishnet stockings... You know the one... with the leather whips? Then you will have that uplifting experience!!

I kinda like the stockings to have a few small rips in them. And red lipstick, lots of red lipstick.

I shoulda known, with all the testosterone floating around this here forum, that this thread would somehow, eventually, degenerate into something kinky.

In my limited experience, some of the best and biggest surprises came in small packages.

Last month needed to bring home a spare bed fraim from shop. Did not want to drive home in one of the vans so.......

Wrapped ends in a towel and then in a piece of card board, set on seat and I sat on top. Had to attach a red flag to end, sticking behind bike over 5'.

I'm 5'11'' and could only touch ground on one side.

Ride home, about 5 miles. On way thought occurred to me that this be the view TC gets when riding Godzilla.

Also had a guy at a light roll down his window and say "what's that" . I looked back at the bed fraim, it looked just like a bed fraim to me so I told him "it's a new XS high tech wheelee surpression system". Was wearing a happy face inside my full face helmet

I agree. The "rattle factor" that comes from going from 'riding' to 'along for the ride' in the blink of an eye takes some time to get over. Riding again is key. and it gets better with time & miles, maybe a year.

Going down was quite an experience for me. Luckily it was on a hairpin, so I wasn't going to0 fast. Just wasn't able to right the bike out of the lean before hitting some sand on the road. I remember it very clearly: one moment on bike, the next staring down the center line thinking "move before you see an undercarriage!"

I was halfway between L.A. and San Francisco. Rested my rattled nerves in a hotel and had to soul search: continue the twisties up hwy 1 or take it easy on 101. I ended up deciding what everyone else here has been saying, "get back on that horse." I took it VERY easy all the way up, but I knew that if I didn't I might risk being too rattled to try again; this happened to basically be my first ride. (the other two were under 75mi total)

I'm very glad I did and this summer I plan on tackling that stretch of road and showing it who's boss.

Thanks for the link to vtwinmama. I've been a fan of that site for a long time. I have a friend who is not much taller than I am who recently bought an '08 HD Somethingorother. I forget the model. She had it dropped a couple of inches and she looks tiny on that big ol' thing.

The Fatboy would be an option that's not too hard to modify...that is if I wanted to spend the $. I don't. :-) My Shadow 750 works well and with me on it, looks a lot bigger than it is. I still have my heart set on a customized XS1100. I want to know what the twisties feel like on something other than a cruiser. Someday...

I got some riding in last summer and am far more comfortable then I was at this time last year. Even rode the other day when there was still ice in the shady spots, thanks to my new heated gear. :-) This summer I plan to be part of Denny's PNW rally.

XJ's are short

Meri, Why don't you find somebody who will let you try on their XJ650 say a 81 or 82. I resurrected one for someone who was inseam challenged and it fit very well. It was one of the most honest motorcycles I have ever ridden. Not as much power as the big XS but they will not be able to loose ya unless its on a real long straight. Handled very well and was really stable. They are out there for some pretty good prices on Ebay or criglist. In addition they are very good looking machines. I XS ed this one up a little. I like the XS signal mounts and style better than the stock XJ style

The original owner of my 1100E was 5' 6" and when you figure the height to inseam ratios between men and women, with more experince an xs1100 may not be as far out of your league as you think. However if you want the thrill of carving corners try a 600cc sport bike they should be within your comfort zone.

Congratulations on getting back to riding after your wreck. Except for some untimely get offs back in my track days, all my wrecks have been far from home and the only way to get back was to ride, once with a broken shoulder. So getting back on the horse has never been a problem I've had to face, at least not with a clear head. lol. It would definitely get harder with time to think about it.

And as if it hasn't been posted enough, it's a good thing we are ALL still here and riding after all the "bumps". I'm kinda lucky here. 3 dumps, only damage is a broken highway peg and a slightly bent crash bar.

Worst one was coming down the hill into town and my throttle cable hung on the carbs at almost full . Had to kill the engine and try to coast into somewhere to park and pull out the tool kit. Hit loose gravel turning in and put it on the right side. Lucky, someone was just coming out where I was turning in and helped me get her back up.

And given the XS is my first, I don't really have anything to compare to.

Measuring just over 5'1", I'm definitely challenged when it comes to touching the ground while seated on just about any bike... except maybe a Prom special otherwise known as a Vespa. An XJ or a sport bike could be an option. I could probably manage something bigger with more experience. My size and lack of man-strength are two strikes against me and it's frustrating. No matter how hard I try, I can't think of a way go get taller.

For now, the Shadow serves me well. She's big enough to keep up on the freeway and pretty enough to turn a few heads.

I had been debating getting a shadow when I was looking for my first bike. I'm kind of glad I cheaped out and went for this old bike instead. Though now that I've had some comparison I'm thinking the $1500 I paid was a little much. eh, serves me right for not shopping around enough.
