Ride to work day

Anyone participate yesterday ??? I'm guilty but I didn't work either . If I am working next year I will definetly take pictures as there is a small variety of bikes (mostly hardleys but a few others )

Rode to work

Seven people where I work rode their bikes to work yesterday. But I really disappointed by the lack of bike in general. I think that I even saw less than I usually see.

I ride to work every day that the sun shines, course it's only two miles from the house, but I still ride to work every day.

I didn't even know there was a "Ride to work day"..... but I did! Although with the 108-110 degree days we have been having.... riding home in the evenings isn't much fun. It is supposed to drop into the mid-low 90's this weekend though... might have to break out my winter gear to ride...

It has been so damned hot here, that I finally gave in drove the cage (with A/C) to work yesterday. It sure made a difference in the mobile parking lot we call a freeway at 3 pm. 106 degrees.

(But I've been riding everyday since getting "Babe" back on the road....)

Off of the subject a bit, but I was wondering about that last weekend while riding in Oklahoma City. When it's this hot, and you get in a traffic jam where you are basically idling for long periods, should I worry about these air-cooled motors? Can they get too hot at idle?

I run an oil cooler all year here, but I don't think that helps too much when your'e not moving any air over it. There were many old air cooled bikes used in N. Africa during WWII. I'm lucky, the slow part of the ride is the last 6 miles of my commute, and when the traffic isn't moving at all, I know all the alternate routes. I hate to be not moving. I'll go out of my way just to keep moving at a decent pace.

Did not know that there was a ride to work day. I had been riding my pedal bike to work until last week when I switched jobs. It was easy to throw a pair of scrubs in a backpack and ride to work in shorts and a tank top. Now I have to kinda dress for work so that makes it harder. I am still feeling out the new job to see how bike freindly it is. Working for an organ procurement organization right now so I am not sure how that would look.... Pull up to the hospital to talk about organ donation on my motorcycle to our family who has a loved one that just had a motorcycle wreck. Not to get off of topic, but please wear your helmets gentlemen. And if you choose not to, make sure that your family knows your wishes on organ dontation.

Back on topic, I hope to add some luggage to the XS and ride to work on a regular basis.

I usually dont ride to work... but our car park is being.. expanded and there is no suitable place to park a car. Ergo, I ride to work :P

What Daniel said, 40 miles round trip. The Jeep has been a couple hundred miles away from needing an oil change for three months now.

I'd like to 'ride to work' each day, but carrying 2 chainsaws, petrol/oil cans, safety gear, helmets, water containers, spare clothes, wet weather gear, tool boxes, and a lunch bag with food and hot water - is a wee bit tricky Besides, it's usually dark, wet and freezing in the mornings, and not much better in the afternoons. I'm sticking to the cage

WE had 62 bikes at work It seemed that 1 shift was the chopper s and 2 shift was the faster bikes
