          Thanks all...

Mom was a MUCH better person than I could ever hope to be... but I do aspire to be one of these days...

It was an extremely difficult few weeks but the last few days, thanks to the Hospice unit she was in... were incredibly tranquil and when she finally let go this afternoon... it was very peaceful...

My brother was with me and my sister had just left for work so we were all together for the most part the last few days and Mom knew we were there for her... We all had a chance to say goodbye so there are no regrets...

There is one heck of a family reunion going on right now and I know she was looking forward to the party... but no alcohol (unless my Dad snuck in) they are strict Southern Baptist...

My deepest sympathies. It's always easier when you can take the time to say goodbye, and everything is calm, but it's really never easy. Try to enjoy the party, and think of it as a "sending-off" party. She went to a better place, and as hard as it may be, we should be glad for her.

You have my deepest sympathies also. The Hospice unit was very helpful when my wifes mother passed a few years ago. So glad that you were able to spend those last days with her.

Condolences to you and your family Kat and John. She is in a better place for sure. Celebrate her leaving with a great party and an O'Doul's or two for me. Discussing her life with family brings back good memories and eases the pain.

Unless it's me mis-reading this, I THINK she was meaning a family reunion in Heaven.. not down here.

I'm glad there was a peace for all of you Kat, especially your mom. I hope your kids will take it as well to have Grandma gone, but my thoughts and prayers are with you guys. The Gang is here if you need anything.

You have my most sincere and heart felt condolences. Even an expected loss is never easy. From experience I will say that I still miss my dad almost daily after more than a decade. Its the little day to day things that remind you. I am very glad you had the chance to say good bye.

And Kat, I am sure that your mother was VERY proud of the lady and mother you have become.

Thank you all so very much... My Mom was an absolutely incredible lady as well as one of my best friends and as much as I will miss her... I know that she is in a much better place... I can't relay just how bad the last few weeks had been for her... and to have watched her simply go to sleep peacefully yesterday was the most calming moment I've experienced in awhile...

I truly appreciate the support here... thank you
