Like many others here, I only got to know Lee from his post on the forum. My loss for sure. He kept things very upbeat and had a great sense of humor about everything. He also threw in the occasional "Can't we all just get along" post where it was needed.
We truly lost a brother to the clan, and a great man. My most heartfelt sympathy goes out to Terri and the Ridge family, thank you for sharing Lee with us!Last edited by Ken Talbot; 10-16-2009, 09:08 AM.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!

Everyone,
My name is Matt and I had the honor of being his son.
I would like to thank you all for your kinds words. He was truly happy to get to ride with a lot of you. He has always had a big personality that was hard to miss . He always talked about about this group and he always spoke very high of everyone. This was my first season rideing and we spoke a lot about rideing together and never got that chance... but 2 things he told me i will never forget "Rubber down crome up" and "I would rather be rideing thinking about god then in church thinking about rideing." Thought i would share that with everyone.
Thank you everyone,
Matthew Stephen Ridge

Matt: I stopped in last night to drop off a little food and some extras. Met your mom for the 2nd time. I'm so sorry for your loss. Lee was a great guy. Sorry I can't be there at 11 today for the services.
My wife just sat outside and cried.'81 XS11 LH (MNS)

Thanks for posting Matt. I, like many on here, never actually met your Dad, but for some reason, his passing has really hit home for me. My wife and I laid in bed a few nights ago, using up the tail end of a box of kleenex, talking about what happened. I hope you can continue to ride, and remember your Dad every time you do. I'm sure ANY of the folks on this site would LOVE to have you along for a ride. You've got a nice supply of XSives in that part of the country, so if you're in need of a good ride, a quick post on this site will most definitely rally the troops together.

Matt,
Just wanted to first say how terribly sorry I am for your family's loss.
For several months, I had the privilege to get to know your Dad through reading his posts here. He and I did get the chance to talk to one another through a few PM's.
Your Dad made me laugh many times, and at a time in my life when I really needed that. I will always be grateful for his wit, humor, & wisdom he shared with us here.
I did get the honor of meeting him in person for the first time on this ride.
I could tell he wasn't feeling well, due to a terrible cold he had, yet he didn't let that stop him from coming. I know that, just like the rest of us, he had really looked forward to being there.
I'm really glad I got to meet and ride with him.
Your great loss has affected me tremendously as well, and I will never forget him. He will be greatly missed.
FWIW, just know your Dad touched a lot of lives here, and mine was one of them.
Take care.

Hey Matt, we had an exercise here on base last week. Consequentally there was no way i could get away from work for your father's services on Friday. I'd like you to know though that anytime you need anything I'm pretty close by, all you have to do is ask, whether it's help working on your bike, just talking, or anything else that may come up.1980 XS11SG

To Matt and the Ridge Family
I'm sorry for your lost. I just met you dad this weekend and I talk to him because we had a lot in common as far as age and getting back to riding after a many years . Sounds like your dad was on the forum more than I and had made lots of friends on the XS forum. I talk to him at the last fuel stop before the accident . He was riding his bike behind me. He was a little worry that he was holding some up but I told him not to worry cause most of the time I ride in the back of a group so I came ride my own ride and look around without worry of running into the bike in front of me. Ride at you own ride. I think that was what he did because at the time of the accident the group had split into 3 groups . 9 in front , me, and 4 in back.
I'm really glad I got to meet and ride with him. I just know your Dad touched a lot of lives here. He will be missed.
Our sincerest regards from my family to your's.

I'm sorry I haven't said anything sooner but didn't really know what to say. I feel bad being there right after the accident and thinking that he would go to the hospital and ultimately be okay. Then came the phone call with the bad news and it just seemed so surreal. You never know when your time will come but I think Lee had lived a good life and did good to others and who knows how many other people he may helped along the way. I know he will be missed by many that met him in person and many others that he spoke with in this forum. RIP Lee.http://www.myspace.com/i_give_you_power

Saw this post float to the top again.
I am still fighting the loss. Sometimes I miss him, sometimes I am angry he left. Other times I feel like he is right there. I can't imagine what Terri and the kids must be going through.
Miss you Lee.Ich habe dich nicht gefragt.
