  • xs1100 Venturer accessories

Hey guys I'm new here. I recently picked up an 81 Venturer for very cheap for a project. I am getting rid of most of the stuff on it. There are prices in the link, but I have the front fairing. The rear luggage rag. luggage rack top mount. Stock seat, Stock air box. Rear fender. Both bags. shipping can be arranged but would be paid for by the buyer.

    Thanks guys,
    here is the link.

Don't be such a grumpy old coot Ben. I do agree though.

Chicago, the Venturer was a one year touring package in the last year of the XS11. That bike looks like a pretty fair representation.

I have 4 project Specials in my garage, 2 80SG's, an 81 SH, and an 80 LG Midnight Special. All have titles and will run.

I will trade you any 2 and any parts you would like that I have for that Venturer as it is.

And, what exactly gives any one of us the right to tell another XS owner what to do with his bike? If some outside person saw some of these posts on this site, they would not see any welcoming feelings. Every man has every right to do whatever they want to these bikes (they're old UJM's that have no value whatsoever, NONE!!!), without being bashed just because some forum members hold these bikes to a higher regard than what they are. These bikes are a dime a dozen. You can find them all over CL, Ebay, etc. They're just as prevalent as Honda CB's. Nothing special. I can see if they were a Ducati, Triumph, or something exotic, but they're not. Get over it, and let anybody do what they want to these bikes, how they want. Greg's offer was cool and understandable.

No offense intened Ian, but'a dime a dozen' as you say is total BS, and you know it, as is majority of your other comments. You obviously havent been around older scoots long enough. Stick around for another five yrs. and you'll be eating those comments.....guraenteed.

Had a ffew minutes to think about it Chicagox. So I"m gonna lay it put there pkain and simple for ya'. The Venturer WAS the least produced. The Mid-Nite Special can't even hold a candle to the least amount produced Venturer 1100's If you think for one moment selling the FACTORY installed accessories is gonna get you cash to hack up the bike into something else...............dream elswhere. No apologies for my response either. One of three things(or all three} are evading you........either you have little or no knowledge of this model, have little or known knowledge of it rarity, or just dumber than a box of rocks.....maybe all three, who knows, maybe just tryin' to bait the majority here. If any of the first three, maybe you nrrd to read the write-ups on these scoots, specially the Venturer. As a FACTORY full dresser, at 34yrs. old it will STILL outperform any and ALL touring models of today. BTDT, so don't even bother throwin' out a bet on that one.

No offense taken. I got the bike for $300, didn't run and has the second gear slip issue. Completely redid the carbs, new spark plugs and oil change and it's running like a champ. Still needs lots of work but it runs at least. I do not like the style of the fairings at all. I simply bought the bike because I really do like the xs1100 series and this one was one that was finally in my budget. I'm only 23 years old. The venturer is really not my style so I figured that someone else may want the fairings for their bike. They're in great shape, just not my taste. I want to do a rat cafe racer style because I want to make it custom and my own. Also I want to do something with it because I want it to be a learning experience and do new things. So crucify me for doing but, it's going to happen, and I guarantee when it's done it will look damn good. Also I like the squarish look of the tank over the style of the xs1100 special tank. Also what I am doing to it is better than it sitting in someone's garage getting neglected for 15 years. Also I don't know where you get that I don't appreciate the site? I've been on it two days and have already learned how to rebuild the carbs, bench sync, and lots of other miscellaneous stuff about the bike. The site it a great resource and very helpful. Also I do not need the money to fund this project, just figured someone else may want them. Seems like you guys really like them, why wouldn't someone else want some near mint items like these. I just want a fun cruiser. I did not buy this bike to go fast or be fast on or race. I bought it to do multi state rides and road trips. If I want to go racingdown the highway or tear thru some twisties. I'll hop on my cbr 1000rr

Very cool offer Chicago. It'd be nice to see that bike goto Greg.

And, Moto, I'm getting older and have over 20 bikes between my garages, dating back to a 1965 Honda Cub 50, with my newer bikes being a 2007 GSXR-750, my dad's '04 GSXR-1300 Hayabusa, and my '01 Honda F4i. The XS1100 is a fun everyday bike (only reason I bought is, was because I wanted to see how it compared to my XS750/850's), however, I don't put the bike on a pedestal, as it's in the stone age compared to my modern bikes. I put a fair share of money into it, as I do all of my other's. But, it's only gone-up in value because some dope with more money than brains wanted to re-live some teenage ambition of owning the bike, and paid an anstronomical fee that some owner assessed it for. I don't buy into the fact that this bike is a collector just because somebody has their bike looking like Mike's or MP's. Not bashing the bike, but how many people buy a modern ST, FJR, etc., and find this bike on the side or corner of the garage more? This bike is not rare like a CBX, or any other "collectable" bike. It's just as-common as Suzuki's GS1100. I get why everybody get's butt-hurt over somebody tearing apart a good-looking bike. However, I don't think this site was set-up to bash a new member just because you don't agree with him modifying his bike. I don't remember there being a Mission Statement sign under the XS banner stating the goal to be preserving these bikes as OEM . . . Go over on the GSResources.com site, where their membership topples our's, and they even have "rat bike", "chopper", and "cafe" categories, where guy's show-off some cool bikes. Embrace people's creativity. Or, go on Michigan's Craigslist, and buy all 40+ of the XS1100's for sale (rare bike . . . )
