If you look closely at the rear of the seat you'll see that it has the space there for the 80 - 81 Special tail light. It's probably off of an LG or an LH.Originally posted by motoman View Post

The other hint is the point at the bottom edge. That's indicative of an 80 - 81 Special pan.
See how the lower edge of the pan is pretty much straight on the 79 seat?
Now look at the point sticking down on this LH seat between the upper shock mount and the side cover.
The one on the craigslist seat has that point. You can put a 79 seat on an 80 but if you try to put an 80 - 81 seat on a 79 the side covers won't fit.
