Nice set of pipes, but not for 1k. I bought mine off of Flea-bay for $60 bucks & had them rebuilt with new baffles re-chromed with a Triple Plating process....came out flawless. Pics soon. Not bad for a total of $120!

I bought a set (still in the factory boxes) in Italy last year and paid more than 1000$. Inner pipes and clamps not included of course.
If I could get them overhere without the additional costs i would buy them ( and sell them and still make a decent profit).
That's a mighty long list of bikes under your signature. Do you still have all the bikes? Collector?

Triple chrome and new baffles for $60, I sure would like to know who did it. Closest I could come to that in the US would be to send it to Brazil and I have been in manufacturing for 30 years.

              new baffles & re-chrome

my pipes look great, but I have this obnoxious rattle in the mufflers, new baffles & re-chrome would be a great fix if it's affordable... '81 xs11 special

For the condition, that wasn't a bad price. Merrimans quoted me $1200 for a very good set, and that was 6-7 years ago....

$1,000 was the Yamaha factory price......when they still made them.
I did see a new set of special pipes go for that price on ebay a few years ago. I just sold a set close to these with pitted headers for around $450.
Lets face it, If you are a restorer the odds of a good factory exhaust like that are SLIM TO NONE. Just wondering...how much does a nice new Harley exhaust go for...they have piles of them in every town in the USA, what makes them special?
There is a big jump between like new and pretty good.

lets see i spent 450. for a new set of mac 4 into 2 but dues to the 6 mount back order i cancelled it so u tell me why would i do that when i could get them for the more agressive sound.
