  • Stock Exhaust, 79 Xs1100 standard

I have a set of stock chrome pipes in excellent condition. I am looking to get a $1000 plus shipping. I will consider trades, I am looking for older 2 stroke street bikes, but I will consider anything. I have allot of pictures that I would be glad to email, just send me an email at jan_rbrts@yahoo.com Thanks

1000 bucks??? Is that a typo? You can buy a complete bike for that kinda dough.... Or are you talkin about a complete bike if so then you are in the wrong subforum

Hey, if it's in spotless, mint condition, it just might be worth a grand to someone trying to do a restoration. I wouldn't be surprised to see a MNS set for that price.

          Pipes

He offered it to me first but I declined. If I had not just bought my 79 Special, I would have bought them for my 78E. They are mint.

I have seen several sets go for less than $500 on ebay in the last year including a still packaged MNS set. At least 2 sets were OEM NOS perfect condition. Can't believe anyone would give a grand for a used set?? Sorry but profiteering really gets me!

Let me clarifiy, I would have bought them but not for $1000. I told him he would be better off putting them on ebay. I know there are people on this site who did not pay that much for their bikes and would scoff at 1k.

For those who don't have pipes

As an 1979 XS1100 owner and rider I thought you guys new better. For one has everyone seen the pics? If you have and you own an XS and you owned these pipes would you sell them? If so for how much? Has anybody ever heard of make an offer? Just for everyones info I got my XS1100 for free and spent 3 years reviving it, it was kind of a labor of love and I would never, never, never think of selling it. KERKER FOREVER Thanks
PS foreda - I only sent you limited pictures

It must be around 75 - 100 lbs, but I will weigh it and get back to you.

Now that's a sweet looking exhaust system. I can see value at $1000, and would seriously consider if I was in the market. As it is, Tsunami still has it's original exhaust system, direct from the factory. Yes, it has had a few welding jobs, but with a bit of care, it is up over 112,000 kms (70,000 miles) and still does not have any blue-ing on the headers. I'm not sure I've ever seen a Kerker or Jardine system with no blue-ing, and with this kind of lifespan. Besides, I really prefer the look of a 4 into 2 system.

                            JAT, YMMV, etc, etc...

Great looking pipes and i would have bought them if it wasn't for the 45-50% import taxes and vat that comes on top of that.
I bought a set (still in the factory boxes) in Italy last year and paid more than 1000$. Inner pipes and clamps not included of course.
If I could get them overhere without the additional costs i would buy them ( and sell them and still make a decent profit).
