    It's a nice looking bike!

The engine appears to be from a later model.

I was wondering about that, too, after looking at the area where the kick-starter shaft should be on a '79 SF ...

Nice looker. Not being totally stock does damage to the $3500 asking price regardless of the said mileage.

And the fancy color isn't stock either... Good observation on the kickstarter being in absentia... What about "very little rust" in reference to the tank? It oughta be pristine for that $$.

What about all the stuff you can't see? Brake calipers/pistons/fluid, master cylinders front/rear, brake pads, brake line condition, when were carbs last gone through, are the carbs from a 79 or a later model (will dictate what kind of rebuild kit, and thus cost, you may have), are petcocks solid and octy diaphragm working, fork fluid changed, steering head and swing arm bearings serviced, throttle/clutch/speedo cables cleaned and lubed, does tach needle wobble, when were valves adjusted, last disassembly to lube drive shaft splines that don't get lube from the zerk, lighting reserve unit working, cam chain adjuster isn'tmaxed out, when was it adjusted last, and cam chain is in good shape despite low miles (if oil wasnt changed for an extended interval at some point, it can cause premature wear/stretch) tires not old and hard? Bike hasn't seen much use and that can be as hard on a bike as running it hard and hanging it up wet. I don't see anything mentioned about a service manual, and doesn't appear to be anyone from the forum.

              Whew...did I forget anything?

I bought a project 80G and every last thing on the list above, and probably a few more I forgot needed going through.

It has good curb appeal, but we should all be alert to "what lies beneath".

BTW, ZRX carbs have the same spacing as the XS11... http://www.xs11.com/forum/showthread.php?t=35462

Geeze Bonz, way to be a Debbie Downer. Can't it just be an expensive sexy bike to look at? Lol, jk. You're right about all of that obviously. I just like it cuz it's the same color as mine.

Bonz, you overlooked the missing plastic insert that goes in the filler plug on the rear drive housing.

Yeah, that "very little if any rust" comment made me a little suspicious, too.

As for the carbs ... of course we can't see carbs 2 and 3, but based on the photos, it appears to have the "early" 78/79 carbs.

The reported mileage means nothing. Especially assuming the engine serial number is not going to be a match. The yellow is an attention grabber.

                            A little pricy

That bike is about an hour east of Denver more of a rural setting out there.
I think When I first noticed it the price was 4,000 The price seems high to me unless it has been refurbished somewhat recently.
As Bonz mentioned they are still 30+ year old parts whether lightly used or not!

I think the only thing you can be sure has 18k miles on it is the speedometer . The yellow color does look sharp on the bike, the question I would ask is what went wrong with the original motor with that few miles on it.
