I went to St Louis to get the SF that eventually became The Green Hornet and paid $225 for it in worse shape than that. It had a title and ran though.

Greg, if you can turn something in worse shape than this into The Green Hornet, you have much better skills than I'll ever have ...

Wow, sad shape indeed ... how did it get this bad with only 9K+ miles? Looks so neglected ... like it sat out in the elements it's whole life ...

Enough parts to make a running XJ with a lot of effort and a good clean it will be a fine machine. I would not sit on the saddle for fear of catching something Certainly has a lot of pictures to show condition.
Not a bad price if you live close enough.

Yeah, it does look like it has spent most of its life sitting uncovered in an abandoned lot for 20+ years.

Mine at least was in a sun-baked outbuilding patio and accumulated a protective coating of dust over its 20+ year coma. Luckily my father-in-law stored parts like clutch plates and valves in oil baths. I think it cost around $800 - 1000 including tires to get it back on the road.

This is a rough idea of parts and costs. There were plenty of little incidental costs such as fuel line, filters, etc.

Nah that'll buff right out and clean up nicely... But it really is pretty roached...it needs a total ground up resto...

Jeff, the only thing you would get from that seat is a rash.
