        It looks like you have to sell it when you hit your 60's (or maybe not):

        If the original owner was 40 in 1978 and sold it in his "late 60's", this would have been circa 2006 @ age 68. We know that isn't the case, as the third owner (seller) bought it in 2002 (at age 58). If it was sold in 2001, the original owner was 63. Maybe he meant late 50's on the original owner, circa 1996? This would mean the second owner kept it for 6 years and was age 62 on the 2002 sale.

        It's neat to read about the history of it though. I often wonder where my bought-new-by-me '81 GS1000 is, and at any rate I hope to still be riding past age 68.
