    Definitely a frankenbike...

The frame is no newer than '80 as it has the '78-80 standard muffler bracket/brake pedal setup on it. It has a '78-79 standard sidecover on the right side, and '80-81 on the left. Seat is a '80-81 type. The motor has the kick-start shaft showing, so the motor is likely a '78-79. If I had to guess, it's probably a '78 or 79, but it could be a '80 with a motor swap. For sure it's not a '81 or 82....

Like I said, make sure you check the frame numbers vs the title...

      Yeah, but

Still a pretty decent deal if you got it for say $750.00 or even $800.00
      Assumming it runs as stated.
Actually not vey far from me. But, I just don't need another 1.

I think being weary is what tends to get people into these kinds of deals...now being wary I could understand...

There are a lot of observant people here. I am not the buyer, but it appears that someone was weary enough to purchase it. Whatever the case may be, the title now reads "82 yamaha xs 1100 is sold - $1000 (tomah)." Thanks for all the comments and laughs!

It appears that the $400 one in Dodgeville still needs to be saved.
