  • My 1980 Yamaha XS1100 SG Special chopper

1980 XS1100SG that has been made into a single seater. It is fast for an old bike and handles the twisties very well, and if any of you had seen it in Talihina or the Bob Jones rally in Arkansas you would know! Had about 25,000 on speedo when I bought it and swapped it for a 160 mph speedo when it had 28,000 on it. The 160 had about 25,000 on it when swapped and now has 33,113, so I've put about 11,000 miles on it. I have taken many trips on it and it has never broken down or left me stranded. It also still has the octy installed and functions perfectly, if you don't know what that is, it automatically shuts off the fuel when the engine is turned off and automatically comes on when the engine is turned on so you never have to shut off the petcocks!!! Runs, stops and rides great! No clutch slips and no second gear problem. I wouldn't be afraid at all to ride it over 600 miles in a day because I've done it with no problem! Clear title in hand. No shipping, delivery or checks, CASH ONLY. No joyrides without cash in my hand! $1,800 or best offer!

stainless steel brake lines front and back
front master cylinder has been rebuilt and works excellent
both front wheel brake calipers have been rebuilt
Dunlop Elite 3 front tire has about 3,000 miles on it with barely any wear on it
Dunlop Elite 3 rear tire has about 6,000 miles on it with about half of the tread left
has Honda Shadow rear chrome SHOWA shocks
replaced the valve cover gasket a few weeks ago so it has NO oil leaks
Dynojet carb kit with 124 main jets, 190 air jets and slide needles set on the third notch from bottom
Colortune carbs to have blue combustion flame across entire rpm range
    synchronized carbs with Carbtune
new clutch plates and EBC springs at about 6,000 miles ago
1,000 miles since last oil change
middle drive and final drive gear oil was replaced 6,000 miles ago
EMGO pod air filters with air box stacks modification to eliminate carb restriction
yellow H4 headlight bulb, I like it and noticed that people get out of my way and see me a lot more since I put it in
    rebuilt both petcocks
    rebuilt octy
new gas tank cap rubber seal

No lose to me, it did what I wanted. I'm past the chopper thing. And now that I have the 78 with a rear fender and back seat so I don't have to use a backpack on trips anymore or worry about rain!

                  Yep, TKAT fork brace.
And replaced A LOT of screws on it with stainless Allen head screws, including the carbs. I hate stripped out screw heads!

More time than money I guess but what I'm asking is probably my break even price. Luckily I did almost all the work by myself and the rest with a little help from friends. 100% honesty, nobody wants to pay anything for these bikes, even XS11 people! People are cheap, always has been, always will be. I had fun traveling on it and pretty much everyone likes it, after all it's not a HARDTAIL!!!!! It did it's job well and now it's time to pass it on. Hell, I'd sell it to a friend for probably half that if they really wanted it!

Are those stock shocks on the rear, or are they lowering shocks? If they are shorter, then how much shorter, and what are they off of? I am trying to lower mine, so i can flat foot it. Looking for info.
                              Thanks
