The discs maybe. The foot peg mount thingy should be black. The rest are just painted... Yes it did catch my attention. For a wannabe MNS, it looks pretty nice. I agree that's a bit pricey though, especially this time of year. I am impressed that the seller did not list it as a MNS. It's obviously just a Special with a bunch of painted parts (including the wheels).1980 XS850SG - Sold

I believe Pete is correct. Only the 81 had swiled wheels like the XJ. The midnights also had black exhaust, gold colored rear grab bar, gold trim on the gas tank the headlight rim. The side cover badges are also not Midnight Special.
This certainly looks like a Special with some stuff painted gold to match the wheels.Life is what happens while your planning everything else!
