    Hnmmm I had to look at it twice to understand your title of it being Half a Midnight...LOL funny theres no mentionn of anything done with the motor...(it looks like its a Special...but not a midnight) Everything else looks like the midnight...

      the only thing Midnight about it are the wheels.

          The discs maybe. The foot peg mount thingy should be black. The rest are just painted... Yes it did catch my attention. I have a problem not buying the midnights....

            Pricey

            Too much for this halfbreed. I'll bet he had a hell of a time unpainting that motor.

                  For a wannabe MNS, it looks pretty nice. I agree that's a bit pricey though, especially this time of year. I am impressed that the seller did not list it as a MNS. It's obviously just a Special with a bunch of painted parts (including the wheels).

                          I believe Pete is correct. Only the 81 had swiled wheels like the XJ. The midnights also had black exhaust, gold colored rear grab bar, gold trim on the gas tank the headlight rim. The side cover badges are also not Midnight Special.

                          This certainly looks like a Special with some stuff painted gold to match the wheels.
