    Wanted front caliper retainer

I am looking for a front brake caliper retainer.
I believe it fits into the fork and the brake tabs fit into it.
The retainer is most likely harder than the forks and that is why it is needed?
    Anyhow, I have a 1980 XS1100 Special.
I am looking for the retainer for the right front fork. I do not know if they are the same for both sides. Looks like a stainless U shaped type part.
I assume it is glued, or interference fit?

    Thanks, Jim

Somewhere on this forum is all the measurements you need to make your own as well. Memory escapes me right now but it was drawn out really well and all you would need to do is have it cut out and do some folds. If I find it when i am searching later I will post it. Mayhaps someone else remembers it too.

If you want to make one, the original material is .030" thick.

This is the only link I could find that has the info I wanted to say. It is not the original but it does have the drawing as well as ideas for further searching in order to find it.

              wow

I have two of them in the bin of parts. I just figured that everyone had a pile of them on hand. If you still need one, email me at Bruns@wat.midco.net and I'll grab one from the garage for you.
