Turns out I had a change of plans and won't be down that way in time for the rally, too many friends to catch up with yet further north. You guys have a good one, and remember

Getting my trailer ready for hauling multiple bikes to the Rally....... Decided to get a little creative...

Trying to match the car that will be hauling the yamagoodies.

          ROOM AVAILABLE AT IRON HORSE!
One of the regulars is coming, but has decided to use his mobile home rather than stay in the room he reserved.
If anyone would like the room I will hook them up with the contact info for the person currently with a deposit on the room so it can be switched to you.
Send me a message if you are interested
          FIRST-COME-FIRST SERVED.

Rather have a Yamaha Owner in that room rather than any others!

for those that did the RSVP ........... THANK YOU
that really helps us plan for the event. It is looking like we will have 45 to 50 riders attending the Rally this year.
A month from now we will be out on our Sunday Rally Rides around the NC mountains, or Tennessee if that floats your boat and weather allows. Or even bop into SC & GA if that sounds good to you.
Still can RSVP on our Rally website up until September 18th at: vintageyamaharally.com

              SHIRTS:
If you want to Order a Rally Shirt the clock is ticking towards the Thursday August 31st Cut-Off.
On Sept 1st Kurt & Nancy will get the Sizes & Shirt final Counts to the shirt printer so they can order the product and prepare for the shirt printing.
Can also Order Shirts via the Rally website using your PayPal up until Aug 31st or use the alternative email path.

              Take care,

We're always looking for a volunteer or two to take over some of the tasks associated with putting on a pretty decent rally. Are you volunteering to take care of the shirts and design next year? You are welcome to do so. It's not a big deal just do the following:
                  • Find someone to make a design
                  • Get the approval of the few regulars (organizing committee)
                  • Coordinate with the printer
                  • Collected the money
                  • Send a confirmation e-mail to everyone that ordered.
                  • Make up any differences in the cost from your OWN pocket (Last year it was something on the order of $200 out of MY POCKET)
                  • Transfer the money from PayPal
                  • Write a personal check for the sum
                  • Make sure you get all the right sizes and long or short ordered properly.
                  • Pickup the shirts
                  • Organize the shirts into goodie bags for the attendees to make it easy.
                  • Chase down those that sent a check that bounced.
                  • Mail the few that weren't picked up because the guy couldn't attend.
                  • OH... And listen to someone bitch about the design or color that they didn't add any value to the process
                  • Job is yours if you want it.
                  Kurt
Uh....yeah...I hear you! ( though I should check my "notification center" much more often than I currently do.

The shirts are done and ready for the rally!

We're super pleased with the quality of the shirt this year! We changed printers and were concerned the new shop would not meet our deadline. Our worries were unfounded as the new shop did a great job and delivered them on time!

Nancy has all the shirts organized and labeled in goodie bags for those that ordered a shirt.

NOTE: Although we do not normally sell shirts at the rally, we have a FEW extras that were ordered to reach the next price point from the printer. These are in the most popular sizes L-XL-XXL.

Please look for Nancy to get your shirts at the rally.

                          We're HERE!
Weather is fantastic - But bring a sweatshirt as the evenings are cool!

There are a few road complications as the Cherohala Skyway is CLOSED at the moment due to a washout at mile marker 4.5 on the Tennessee side. HOWEVER, Tenn D.O.T. is expecting a temporary repair to be completed by FRIDAY! Those interested in the riding the Skyway should be in good shape for our weekend!!!

A major road widening project is underway from Stecoah to Robbinsville on NC 143 (the main artery over to Robbinsville). According to the locals, they do NO construction on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday and the road is completely open without the delays we are experiencing here earlier in the week. The alternative is to either: drive up to through Fontana and then DOWN NC 129 at the Dragon entrance OR ride down NC 74 and then over to NC 129 and UP to Robbinsville. Again, this should be a non-issue on the weekend only a inconvenience for those here earlier than Friday.

The weather is great - BUT BRING A SWEATSHIRT.... Evenings & Mornings are CHILLY!

PS - The Big Blue YAMAHAULER made it without complications (other than a belly full of BUTTERFLIES).
