Ironhorse Motocycle Lodge in Stecoah, NC has reopened. They are in Graham county which was closed to residents only for 6 weeks. Good news for a lot of people. May ease by there and take a few pix of the activity this week.

    Bunk houses?

    Mike,
Nancy and I are considering a run up.

Spoke to Julie (new employee) and it sounds like the new bunk houses are up and operational.

In case we don't make it. Please take photos of them.

        Better Late.........

So, I went by IH that day. They have enlarged some existing areas. They put more outdoor furniture on the back porch and fire pit area. There are more covered wagons. The original owner's house on-site is now rentable. This was their first week open for the season. They are considering staying open through the winter. So there are a number of changes with the new ownership. Hope to see you guys there in September for our next rally. Stay and ride safe.

You would certainly be glad that you did. Lots of fun. Lots of great people and motorcycles from all over the US and Canada. Not to mention the rides and the very nice Ironhorse. Come join us.

                      Dwayne,
My place of employment is similar. We answer a Q&A if gone for more than 3 days (any long weekend) but regardless of what one puts on it nothing is done. I suppose if I entered "Went to China" someone might respond. Everyone answers the standard questions and gets a temp check each day. Won't be any different for me going to NC from GA.

                      ATTENDANCE:
It's difficult to determine as we're not a real "CLUB" with dues paying members or a legit roll call. In addition, the new management of IH will not disclose the names of registered guests. They have provided us only with the availability numbers. My contact at IH indicated we will be one the biggest group this year. (they've lost a few big events because of policy changes and COVID certainly didn't help).

We know our Canadian friends won't be joining us and a few from the NY area have indicated the same. There are indications that a few NEW faces will be in attendance based on limited events and folks looking to join us for a good time. FB comments indicate this is true for 3-5 new riders (maybe more).

Also, based on the info we have from those registering on departure last year, Jeff and I discussed and we're thinking as of today we're probably at about VYR 40-45 participants

I could be mistaken on this but I BELIEVE last year the "Head Count" (including non driver participants [i.e my wife and others]) was ~80 total people.

As of today, there will not be the same level as last year, but there will certainly be enough to have a great time together (following social distance rules please ).

                        Rally and Shirt Ordering Update:
                        IRON HORSE:
The Iron Horse Lodge is nearly fully booked. Please check with the Iron Horse quickly if still "on the fence". Very few spots remain: Conestoga Wagon (two twins), one RV spot, I Bunkhouse, one private. You may place your name on a waiting list should there be a cancellation.

                        OTHER LODGING OPTION:
Often, during past events, our attendees have stayed off-site at local hotels as they are within an easy & quick commute and are moderately priced. You can attend all VYR events and activities as well as eat at the Iron Horse Lodge for Breakfast and Dinner with the group.

                        SAN RAN MOTEL - Robbinsville.
                        Randall & Ann Phillips (Owners)

Several of our group members have stayed at the San Ran and strongly recommend the Motel for; Price, Cleanliness, and Hospitality of the owners Randall & Ann. The San Ran has plenty of open rooms. Located just 10 miles from the Iron Horse this Motel is recommended as an alternate to the Iron Horse. Follow our Rally schedule of events and meet at the Iron Horse for daily rides, meals & activities.

                        SHIRT ORDER DEADLINE: AUGUST 31
