We have a hold on the entire resort for 10 more days. Here's a winter project idea. Make an Iron Horse reservation. Make a plan to attend VYR 2019. Don't assume there's always next year. Make 2019 the year we get together at the Iron Horse!

Yes, I do! New job. Too little vacation.

The issue is that due to our chosen venue, plans have to be made early. Also, it would be nice to attract some new blood.

A weekend at Iron Horse - Kurt & Nancy

Vintage Yamaha Rally Attendees,

Nancy and I have come up to the Iron Horse for a weekend get away and found some very significant changes here!!!

Many of the facilities have been updated and improved.

• The front parking area has been re-done with concrete.
• A larger trailer perking area was created behind the semi-private cabins.
• Additional covered parking concrete bike parking adjacent to the lodge.
• Most of the building have a new coat of paint.
• The meeting room has been significantly improved with more seating, new pool tables, etc.
• The previously stone parking areas at Lone Star & Homestead are now concrete (probably will help those Harley guys avoid dropping their bikes)
• An alternate entry/exit created to access Lower Stecoah Road.
• Apparently there was a lake behind the bunk house? Never saw it before but it's being beautified and made accessible.
• It appears many other changes/upgrades are coming as well.

Although the Iron Horse has been the best facility in the area, it was showing a little age here & there. Seems that is being addressed ++++

Nancy & I hope to get an opportunity to speak to the owners and get more information we can share with ya'll.

I received an e-mail from Iron Horse this past week explaining the improvements.

Sounds nice.

My bike will be happy to know there is more covered parking.

IH Update2

UPDATE:
The ole' bunkhouse will be updated and an additional bunkhouse added before our rally with ADDITIONAL SPACES in the new updated cabins (8 vs. 6).

There will also be a couple of Conestoga Wagons installed at the perimeter of the pond available for camping as well.

SO...… if you've been late to the party you can very likely still get a place to spend the night.

IH will let me and Jeff know when they are ready and they give us a couple days for our Vintage Yamaha Rally attendees to grab the spots before they are opened to the public. They are not doing a waiting list.

Second Entrance


Trailer Parking in the rear. I am told they will be EXTREMELY STRICT on parking of trailers in this area ONLY. No more leaving them at cabins etc.


Pond behind the old Bunkhouse. I'm told it is stocked with plenty of fish.
Conestoga Trailer/Cabins will be installed on the rear side of the lake. These apparently very large "wagons" will have four double beds in each. Will visit again in a couple months and have photos of them.



Lonestar and Homestead parking is now CONCRETE. Similar parking addition made at Rocky Top.

Not much changed here on the face just some new lighter paint color.


Soda and now ICE added to a small shed on the other side of the Kitchen (behind the loading dock).


Sorry had to add a personal pic of me & Nancy on the Cherahola. NO it's not a vintage Yamaha but it is a Yamaha.

The Iron Horse should have hired you to do their marketing. Your pictures were nicer and they really show the improvements. This year's rally is going to be great! (again)
