      Yeah I'm late to this

All the semi-private cabin rooms are taken. If anyone with one of these has a change of plans I'll take the room. Sally wants to go to this rally now that she is retiring in June.

Wow! We got an early sell-out. What about private rooms?

          Private rooms

I didn't ask. Are those the ones way up on the side of the hill? Hate to think about trying to find my way home late at night. I liked those cabins just across the creek from the big house.

The following was posted today at XS650.com:

Just made my reservations at Iron Horse. Spoke with "Charity". Very nice young lady. Anyway, she advised all semi-private rooms booked, a couple of 110 volt tent/trailer sites available, 2 efficiency private rooms available @ $119.95 per night, the Old Homestead Cabin available, and primitive tent/trailer sites still available. Not sure about large 30/50 amp RV sites. She will let me know on those. Don't get left out!

Charity got back to me yesterday and said along with the previous post that a couple of the large 30/50 amp RV sites were still available with water/power, but no sewer. She also said the bunk houses were still completely open for reservations. See ya there!

Going to make it this year!

So I just tried calling but I guess their hours for taking reservations ends at 2 p.m., so I'll try to call back tomorrow to get a pull through RV spot for the camper if there are any spots left.

Any chance you'd be willing to help me get my bike put back together and running prior to this year's rally (even if you can't make it)? I finally finished the work on the frame and should be getting it back from powdercoat next week. I have my motor sitting on a pallet and I still need to do the 2nd gear fix, clean and rebuild the stock carbs, and try to clean the tank and rebuild the petcocks. Would you be willing or interested in helping out with any of that stuff? I think I live about an hour from you in Pinehurst and I can probably get the motor in the back of the truck and bring it to you if that would be easier?

I'm trying to make this the year that I actually make it!

Just made my reservation with Pam for an RV site from the 22nd to the 25th! I'm going this year even if I have to push the bike into the bike of my truck in order to make it.

                          Adrian,
This could be a Vintage Yamaha Rally Event! Help a member make it run!

I've attended a few car shows where Technicians from various engine builders raced to see who can rebuild a stripped down motor the fastest and make it run. This could be a KILLER event. There will be so many Vintage Yamaha Gurus at this event it would be nearly child's play to turn a basket case into a running machine! (assuming you bring all the parts )

Also, I carried an "EXTRA" XS11 with me last year on a trailer. It never got off the trailer for riding but it was ready to roll for anyone that might have otherwise missed the rides. You'd be more than welcome to ride my "Spare".

Nancy and I have a couple friends that are planning to attend on my OTHER "Spares". These are guys that haven't owned bikes in a while but we think we have them convinced to come along. There's a good chance all my XS11's and possibly my Mini-Maxim XJ550 will be there!

                          Sincerely,

                            Kurt,

Wow, I really appreciate the offer. I hope I can have my bike running before I get there and enjoy it for the weekend, but it's nice to know that I may have another bike to ride if I can't.

And I have to say that I think it's brilliant to include some maintenance, or more importantly, instruction in my case, on how to keep these bikes running. I, probably like many before and after me, started modifying and making changes to the bike before I knew what i was really doing and am now in over my head to a degree.

                            Thanks a lot Kurt,

I am booked in a room but may switch to electric tent site. Have to try a trial overnight run this summer with tent gear to see if I want to bother with it. It is something I have been promising myself I would do but may opt for comfort on the first multi-day multi-state trip.

Looking forward to my first rally. Wish I could do May but my schedule never permits it.

                                Alright!

                                Steve:

The XSSE was my first rally 2 years ago. I attended last year too.

I didn't know what to expect, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of my life (...and believe me, my life has not been boring.)

We look forward to meeting you.
