TC and I made back. I'll let him tell about the dirty fuel filter and oil leak. Only had about 30mins of rain in Boone after our little trip up the Blue Ridge.
Heh, glad you made it there! Last I saw, T.C. was down with alternator problems. Godzilla looks good in green and she-e-e-e-epskin!

XS11 Friends,
My son Karl attended XSSE this year. He's a VERY new driver having a bike license less than two years. His experience level is EXTREMELY limited. He has spent most of his time driving our Mini-Maxim 550 to & from work and his girlfriends house with an occasional ride to FDR park with Mom & Dad. Although the "Dead Duck Cafรฉ" has a troublesome idle, it will run with the best at part/full throttle positions... a bit more of a handful than an XJ550...
He was EXTREMELY apprehensive about XSSE. I believe I scared the heck out of him taking "Moonshiner 28" to the lodge on Friday.
On Saturday, Chis and Nicole donated their entire Saturday ride to helping Karl & I navigate to/from the Blue Ridge Parkway! Chris took lead position while Nicole watched the back. They used their radios to communicate and keep everything SMOOTH and SIMPLE for Karl. WOW! Thank you very much Chris & Nicole.
On Sunday, we wanted to skip the group rides as another 200 +/- day on the twisties was far too much for Karl. He's also not at all capable of safely navigating the DRAGON. Mike donated his day taking lead on a much shorter day ride of about 100 miles total. We went to the Dragon (Left Karl at the Gift Shop ) Me & the bride with Michigan Mike in the Background.....
Mike, Nancy & I made and Up/Down run and then took in some of the sights closer to the lodge including this beautiful set of water falls a .3 mile walk from NC 129!
We left early this morning as Karl promised his employer he would be back to work at/about noon. We just made it in time!
SEVERAL of the XSSE attendees gave Karl advice and pointers (as well as some scary stories - ) and we appreciate all the help he received from our XS friends!!!
We drove a total of 750 miles to, during, and from XSSE! That's a heck of a lot of miles for a YOUNGSTER! The youngest driver award winner has a lot more experience now and he'll be back next year!
Thanks to everyone for all their help with our new XSessive! A HUGE thank you to Chris, Nicole, and Mike!
