You do what you have to do. These bikes are 35+ years old. Sometimes they prove not to be up to the abuse. Properly running and serviced, it should do fine.
Lest we forget..Scott Thornton ran the IBR in 2013 ...1000 miles everyday for 11 days straight...on his trusty XS1100

I expect we'll have over 50 folks. The trip won't be any farther than mine was to XS East. If you can afford the time, it's easy to do three days down and three days back. Come down via the Blue Ridge Parkway. I'm sure you can hook up with somebody along the way. Make and adventure out of it.
Anybody going.?? Iam thinking about it .Long ride alone....
pretty sure BillyRok is coming from upstate NY...and ofc Gary and Bruce trailer down from Mexico NY...others passing through from Ontario enroute to Stecoah NC...

Good News. I have heard from Charlie Haas and Steve Scott. They both are planning to attend again this year. For you new guys, Charlie was one of Bob Jones' good friends and riding buddies back in the day. Steve owns several of Bob Jones' custom bikes. He brought some of them to the rally last year. There is even a rumor that Karla Jones may attend this year. Looking forward to seeing all of the XSives this year.
I wonder if they still have rooms at Iron Horse? I would love to go if my bike is ready.

In addition to tenting, the Tuskeegee Motel is five miles up route 28 and the Kickstand Lodge is two miles down route 28. There should still be a few beds left, but there won't be if you wait much longer. The links to the motel and lodge are on the Facebook page. I hope you can make it.
I'm taking tee shirt orders, in case you missed the thread.
