  • Western Va (Blue Ridge Parkway)

Now that spring is almost upon us,
Anyone interested in trying to get some kinda rally/group ride for the Blue Ridge Parkway.
I've been searching for other XSives in the VA/WV/NC area and have found that there are a lot of us around these parts.
I myself, have never taken my bike for a ride longer than an hour and sure would like to try it out on the parkway and enjoy the scenery and company of some other XSives.
Having never been to a rally and only riding with other bikes once or twice, I'm definitely new to this and would need someone else to sorta take charge and try to organize/plan something.
Just about any weekend would be good, seeing as the parkway is only about 4 hrs away (250miles). (maybe longer with some pit stops to rest my behind)

We could start on either end, Roanoke or Waynesboro, or maybe even do Skyline Dr too.

Just throwing it out there to drum up some ideas.

Yeah Bug, That's a little too far for just a weekend trip. (for me over here on the Coast.)
I know there's enough of us XSives in the mid-East region that we should be able to get something together.
I've been trying to get the ZeeMap updated so I can pinpoint how many there are of us here in the region.

Iron horse is too far. I was thinking of the north end of the parkway up here in VA.
Now, if TC is heading down there in Sept then I might be able to hitch a ride.
(Just an idea. Don't know if the old lady will let me go. though I could just leave her at the casino at Cherokee. )

Renting a trailer would be an option if only I had a hitch on my liberty. Even if I did, the gas to get down there and back with towing would eat me alive.
That's kinda why I was looking more local here in the state. That way I can ride the bike there.

This is not a CB160 rally. The XS1100 has some legs.

Bikes are capable ...not always so the rider...Everyone has their own definition of whats long distance...personally its never to far...never too wet and never too cold...thats a Moonshine mantra...And for those who dont get it...read my ride report on the Moonshine Lunch Run...you still wont "get it" but you might understand...

                            Hi George,
The bike can go anywhere you want
Blue Ridge Parkway is a great ride. You need to plan your GAS stops.
Iron Horse is nearly 1000 miles from my house.......so i will be leaving home on the Thursday
