    Hi Phil,
    Brent here at home in GA. Don is home. Jeff is home, Stewart is home, Jonathan arrived home Sunday (5:15, 45 minutes before his Superbowl party started.) Earl was driving pulling trailer, on dry pavement between large snow banks headed north in VA last report.

    Did we go? Yes, just like we said...Made every meeting place as scheduled; See Itinerary. 2,000 miles for 3 of us. 1500 for 2. Hundreds for one. Also met one more; Steve on a BMW who lives in the keys. Some of the "leaving sharp" times were a little late due to more coffee, yakking etc. Additional activities included side trips to Yoder"s Amish resturaunt in Sarasota. Chockolosky & a museum south of Everglades City, Drive past Alabama Jacks down Card sound rd., Breakfast at same Hideout Resturant (parking lot now paved) on Transyvania Ave in Key Largo. Side trip into Everglades NP - Royal Palm and short walk to see Gumbo Limbo Tree. Several unplanned demonstrations and classes were also presented. Another sucessful trip; no crashes or near misses while riding. WWarm Sunny weather for 6 days rain for about 2 hours one day & my ride home today was cool, but not freezing.
    It is a great big beautiful world out there

                    I need to start paying attention. I could have used a trip to the keys...

                      Jonathan is talking about "the floating inn" in key Largo. Or the houseboatel. They are both located at the end of Transylvania ave in Key Largo at the Hideaway restaurant. We have eaten breakfast there twice. Might be fun. Watch for future rally next year.

                      When getting weather & riding advice from South FL riders, Consider the following translations;

                      Cool ride - (I wish I had brought a jacket)

                      "Cold weather riding gear" - means putting a liner in a mesh jacket and wearing any kind of unlined gloves.

                      A bad winter - includes some hard frost, at least twice.

                      Unbelievably cold - Freezing or colder for several hours; as in "It was SO COLD that iguanas were falling out of the trees! Yes, they really got too cold to hang on and in the morning were laying all over the ground under the trees."

                      There are more differences in their language & perspectives on winter. Do not be scared away. I recommend that anyone who has ever SEEN snow make an effort to meet these riders in South FL. (preferably in January or February)
