  • Yamaha Grand Opening show ride...

There will be a bike show in August in Poteau OK. A small one for the grand opening of our town's Yamaha shop. This will have two XS1100s parked out front to show how dependable Yamahas really are....... hint hint wink wink

Both bikes already signed up are 81s, one Standard and one Special.
The Special is mine and the Standard belongs to a friend of mine still in the military. He will be absent during the grand opening but I will be there. He will be in Iraq somewhere but his bike is going to make the show.

Anyone wanting to show up please contact me and as it gets closer to August I will post exact dates and etc. I don't have a whole lot of room at my house but the Kerr Mansion is great and only around 50/night. Camping in this area is abundant.

    my business email is
    mark@snm-web.com

    their web address is
    http://www.carlalbert.edu/kerr_center/contact.htm

This is not my Yamaha shop but I have personally met the owner and he is a good man.

He was amazed at how good the two bikes look and compared to everyone else on the XS1100 list mine isn't that impressive. But as Daniel Meyer would probably put it ........ They look best when they have been ridden.

I am posting this on both XS11 groups as well as XV Cruisers and Yamaha Star Riders and I'll try to get something on the XS11 websight.

Yamaha Grand Opening Ride and Show Poteau OK.

Here are the dates I promised. We need some good showing of force from XS11 owner's group members. All bikes are welcome even though it's a Yamaha Shop grand opening. There will be trophies given in several different categories. Including, Vintage and Vintage Yamaha/hint hint/ all XS11 owners need to bring theirs and put mine to shame.... Mine is ridden everyday as much as I can get away with. It helps that I make housecalls on it.

There will be a sweet dinner run after the bike show on Friday through part of Talimena Skyline Drive / Winding Stair Mountain. The ride will take us from 500ft to about 1/2 mile in altitude. Nice twisty roads. Perfect motorcycle cruising conditions. Bring a light to medium jacket for the ride down after dinner unless you want to stay at the lodge. It gets nice and cool after the sun drops. Approximately 56 miles from Poteau to the lodge.

      Poteau,OK
There are 21 owners within 200 miles of here.

      So bring em all..........

August 26th Fri. and 27th Sat.

There will be links on XS11.com, the yahoo XS11 owners group, XV_Cruisers yahoo group, Yamahastarriders yahoo group, XS11Plus2 yahoo group, my company website, and my personal website,. Links to those websites are as follows:

Please contact me so I can get a close head count on the dinner run.
