      SPRING mom

Kat I believe the "We've been talking about moving this event to the Spring and scheduling a ride in its place in June..." would be great because of the weather. From Houston to Dallas in the 95+ heat is no fun. I am for the time change if you are taking a poll on the subject.
A side note i have put a NATIONAL CYCLE PLEXIFAIRING 3 WINDSHIELD shield on the XJ1100 and with lowers it is very comfy riding. Looked forward to trying it out to Dallas but maybe latter.
      Best Always
Look forward to reading the report

Many Thanks to John and Kat

What a great weekend. I really enjoyed myself and hats off to John and Kat for putting this on and for all there hard work. It was great to meet all the XS owners and Tod too. Hope to see you next year and keep up with ya on the forum ,now that I have some new friends.
Well I almost made it home. Left Dallas at 9:00 am and made it 200 miles no problem. Stopped in Texarkana and found the back tire was going bad. Soft spot and bubble on tire. What to do , Sunday, on chance to get a new one. So I choose to go on. Hwy 67 ,two lane , keep my speed to 50-55 and make it 200 more mile before it got to dangerous to go any more. The good news is it is only 100 miles from the house, not 300, like at first. The bad news is I'm 100 miles from the house. So I call my Dad to come get me with the trailer and he has a blow out on the trailer 30 mile from me. This is 11:30 pm. Luckily we found a truck stop with a 24/7 tire shop close and they had a tire to fit the trailer, so we had the tire mounted on the spare rim that was already blow out ,then we went back to the trailer and mounted the tire on the trailer ,them went to pick up the XS11 and finally made it home at 5:00am.

I think the tire problem may have been from the XS dead weight you had to carry on the back seat for a bit. Send him the bill for a new one, then sit calmly holding your breath waiting for that to happen!

Good to meet you. Sorry to hear of your troubles, but glad you made it home.... eventually.

              Blame/Credit

We really appreciate y'all coming down to our little gathering, but it must be known that Kat did all of the organizing, cooking, prep work, and everything else that was involved in putting this together. It was all her idea to begin with. All I had to do was supply tools and help out a little with some of the repairs, and consume mass quantities. A big thank you to Hobbyman for all that he did this weekend, and one of equal proportion to Prometheus for showing up and making Kat's weekend one she will always remember (or is that never forget?) Seeing old buds and meeting new ones is what this is all about, and it's just going to get bigger...if we can afford to put gas in the bikes any more. I'm not going to tax my memory and name off everyone who showed up, but by now their names are all over this post, and they know who they are. It really meant a lot to us that y'all would come from so far away to attend our get together, and spend some time with us. Y'all are more than welcome anytime you may be passing through this area.
Richard, I'm sorry to hear about your misfortune, but I'm glad you made it home safely.

                  Great Meeting of the Minds

That was a great meet and greet and Fix the Bike, for sure.
I certainly learned a lot from everyone that was there.

                  Thank you Kat and John.
I ended up having to work Friday,Sat,Sun...and miss all the really good stuff.
As a matter of fact I've been working since then.

I did get the Fork Seals in. And Thanks to John I might actually be able to install them.
Also get in the Jardine Slip-ons from Karla. Now if I can only find the time.
