    TeXSive Lite!

    Ok, there was recently some talk about getting the TeXSives together for a spring ride, so here it is...

    TeXSive Lite!

    This is a proposed gathering for a day ride in the Sam Houston National Forest area. We would meet at a designated spot Saturday morning and ride the day away in the heart of the Piney Woods of Southeast Texas.
    All riders are welcome of course.
    If you are traveling from afar, and want to stay overnight, I will get more info on hotels in the area and post it soon. Otherwise this will just be a day ride on Saturday.

    Date:
    Saturday March 29, 2003

    Place:
    Sam Houston National Forest (meeting place to be announced)

    Time:
    Saturday morning (probably about 10 am or so) and ride till late afternoon.
    note: if your an early bird and want to meet me for breakfast then plan to be in the area around 8:30 am.

    I will find a place for lunch on the route (when I get a route laid out)

    Let me know if you can attend so we will have an idea of how many will be with us. This will help me in finding a place for lunch, if there are a bunch of us I will give the restaurant a heads up.

    So get your XS dusted off and get ready for another great TeXSive ride!

    I am so there.

    As a matter of fact, I am so there that I am already there!

    So, I'll just hang out here for the next 70 days or so and wait for you guys . . .

          Glad you guys will be there.
          I have heard from Tinman (Mike). He says he will be there. Hopefully we will get the whole TeXSive gang together.

          If any of you other XSives out there wanna join us, please let me know and come on. LETS RIDE!!!

              No Jerry, that is San Jacinto your thinking of.
              I mistakingly said, Sam Houston State Park. It is acctually...
              'Sam Houston National Forest'
              It is on I45, just south of Huntsville, Texas. Where the 77 foot high statue of Sam Houston is.
              I'm working on details as to where we will meet up. I will be riding up to the area in the next coupla weeks to check it out.

                OK TeXSives,
                Here is a map of the area we will be riding in.
                I'm still not sure of all the details. I hope, weather permitting, that I get up there soon and do a little scouting.

                        Just 30 more days till TeXSive Lite!

                        I have yet to get up there and scope out a good meeting and riding spot. I hope to get up there soon, if it will just STOP RAINING EVERY STINKING SATURDAY!!!
