  • 2011 rally??

Getting close to summer. I thought a rally in Centrl Oregon would be fun. Some good riding over there, and good weather. Say camp at Tumalo state park, and that gives us multiple ways to go ride. Terry probably knows a few rides. Like to ride out to Fossil and around. Anybody interested, or maybe somewhere else? North in Washington, on the coast? Just looking for interest. I do plane to ride to Fossil, and Shaniko, and some more around Central Oregon anyway this summer.

Sounds good to me. Work may have me travelling, but if I'm here, then I'm up for it.

      Bob: maybe.

I'm going to try to go to the Central Coast and the Colorado rallies; Oregon/Washington is possible but it depends.

I was figuring what it would cost me to go to the Calf. Rally. Just don't know if i can rake up that money. Wish i could go back to work.

                    PNW.."Ride"!!

I was gonna suggest Denny Zander, as a major 'ICON' for anything XS11 related, in the PNW, but see he is already .."on Board', and an incredible asset to have on board..for ANY reason! Miss 'Spring Road trip XS11 Planning", but some errant "deer', put me on the 'Specktater' side..will be with you in .."spirit'..though! Check out my 'Pristine Ride" for sale on this site!

My bike has the XS motor but can't really call it XS11
(or at least it still looks like the XS motor)
it has about 50% of the frame left from the XS bike

I hope the sun comes out here on the west side of the mountains. So far it is hit and miss, and i hear it is going to be as bad as last summer. Oh well, rain don't hurt much.

Roccet and Newbie, I want to make a run up to P.A. just to break the bike in. Ive only put about 60 miles on it since ive owned it. Its just now getting to where I would trust it further than 20 miles from my house. I would like to go all the way around the Olympic Peninsula. Ive never done this, but why not do it for the first time on the bike. This would be a long one day ride or a nice two day ride. I wouldnt call it a rally, but If you guys would want to come, that would be cool. Also there is the Isle of Vason TT. If you have never heard about it, google it. It will be in September sometime. The vintage M.C. that puts it on keeps it secret. But the date always gets out.

The Peninsula loop is pretty easy to do in a day with an early enough leave time. If we met at Ship Wreck West restaurant (west oly) and leave by 9:00am, we should make it back to Oly by dark. Weather is more the issue. If it is going to be cold and wet, the Peninsula is were it will be the worst. If we do it on a Sat or Sun, count me in.

I am planning a run up to Osoyoos to meet up with some Canadian buddies this Spring. I'm thinking of heading over 12 and up 97 (420mi) to avoid the higher passes. Really need to get on the dry side of the mountains and I really hate riding in the greater Seattle/Tacoma area. Haven't picked a date yet.

definately to much for a one day for me, but then again i don't relish the idea of camping anywhere around Forks either. If it was going to be a fair weekend in July or August, i would give a thought to a two day ride.
