To bad the trip was cut short Scott. It would have been no fun traveling all the way in heavy rains, as well as dangerous. Better save the ride for a better day.

    The 'fridge was mostly full.

I'm leaving Colorado for home; have to cut the ride short. There's too much rain and stuff right now on the way to Kansas and on the other side of the mountains.

Motoman convinced me to put a Venture cam chain tensioner on the engine and it runs really smooth and quiet now; definitely a worthwhile mod!

Sounds like the fun is happening. Good to hear. You didn't ask, but i remember that song, but damn, that was a horse. Was the beer fridge at Andreas place full?

    Ambition and Achievement

    3phase,

Yup. Knew you'd like highway 20. Way more fun than zipping down and back to Walmart just to play a game of Walmart Bingo.

    Keep raisin' the bar m'lad!!!

I made it to Salt Lake City about 9 PM today. After getting out of Washington and Oregon it was all open highway with 75 MPH speed limits through most of Idaho and Utah and the bike loved it.

I'm tired and the bike needs an oil change but I'm still grinnin' ear-to-ear after something like 800 miles of mountain roads and canyons to and from Canada, the thunderstorm that chased me for 200 miles before it caught me and forced me to find a motel for the night (at 2 AM) and the high speed run down to Utah today. Whew!

"I've been to Osoyoos on a street with no name, it felt good to be out of the rain!
In Osoyoos, you can't remember your name, 'cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain!"

Yeah, I had fun and I had no idea there was a lake in Osoyoos!

I totally understand, Tony, I'll be back up next year!

Right now Utah and Colorado are up next, maybe Kansas and Oklahoma down to Texas then head back to the barn.

I've been insanely busy lately and I've only taken a couple half days off to go fishing. Almost no riding time other than running errands.

when do you think you'll be passing back though this area? Perhaps we could meet up around Poprock's place...

    Geezer

This seems to be a rally of one this year.

I made it to Osoyoos, B.C. at 6PM this evening.

No Armed Bears In the News Lately....

    3Phase,

No bears "reported" where I'm at. Just means that bears are sneakier or people are too lazy to call 911.

Looks like you will be going through the "Peace Arch" to get from US to "Canadia". Little is known of that land or those peoples....as an explorer it's up to you to report back anything of interest to us arm-chair adventurers.

    Just a tip:

When you ride the Ferry don't use your centerstand. Instead use your sidestand/kickstand and remember to put the bike in gear in order to LOCK the bike in place. Using the centerstand only can result in the bike moving FWD due to the ferry's starts/stops and then....

Well, Maybe you wouldn't be there to see it happen cause you'd be elsewhere on the ferry taking pics to post/share. Right?

Thanks, Larry! I am planning on taking the coast up to Tsawwassen and Vancouver Island, then head east on Hwy 4 but -- holy cow, man! You're about as far north as you can get and still be in Washington! Do you get polar bears there like the Canadians do?

    and whoever else...

    3phase,

I dunno the route you have planned but if it involves going near the coast then Blaine might be an option for ya. Access to a check-up/repair facility (my garage...) and a place to rest at night too. Kinda iffy right now though. The vessel/sailboat is for sale and if it sells then I'll have to deliver it to the new owner somewhere else: Portland Oregon. But if I and the boat are here when you come past then consider the invitation as open.

If you're not going along the coast then may I suggest crossing the border at Oosooyos(sp)? The customs people just may be happy to see an XS: A. Weiss. His home/shop are right across the border.

Getting cooler here at night. Dress warm.
