  • Isle of Vashon TT

    Hello all PNW'ers

This Sunday, Sept 7th is the Isle of Vashon TT, a gathering of crusty bearded old farts on their old British iron and BMW's, along with a good helping of newer Duc's and Kawi's and so on.

I've heard about it but never attended .... is anyone here in the PNW familiar with this event ? .... sounds like fun and I may just go this time .... Horst.

(Vashon is just west of Seattle according to Yahoo maps )

    vashion TT

    Hey Horst,
Sorry I ddidn't see the post in time. I'm on Whidbey Island. I think I may have read about the Vashion TT in Cyclist magazine. If it is the one I remember, the event is very hush hush and by invitation only or some weard thing like that. A kind of secret club cause hey don't want the event crowded with Hardlys. Anyway if you went, am I wrong? Sorry if I am, it happens all the time. May I suggest you try the Annual Oyster Run Sept 28th in Annacortes. Great event, several hundred Thousand bikes. I'll be there.

        I.O.V TT update

Found the website concerning the Isle of Vashion TT. It is sponsored by the Vintage Motorcycl Enthusiist (VME) The event date is only released to members, "not for keeping Hardlys out" as I thought, but to keep the event toned down and not have Vashion Island become "overrun with non-members using it as an excuse to break the law" among other reasons. The web site explains it better. This was the event I read about in cyclist magazine though. Sorry for the Hardly stab! There are vintage Hardlys still on the road too.
