    Ride Itenerary

If interested could plan a group ride and end in Annacortes for festivities.
Im' on Whidbey Island near Coupeville but could take the ferry to Port Townsend, ride to Port Angeles.
Area ride on Whidbey would include Fort Casey, Classic Road for Pictures under the sign! Historic Coupeville down on Front street to eat at Tobys Tavern (Great Penn Cove mussels) ride back across Deception Pass Bridge. Can ride to Clinton on south end and Ferry to Mukilteo, from there it's a long ride back down I5 or 405 south. Sedro Wooley old hwy 99, Burlington has Powersports Cycle shop (Could show em all our Old School classic bikes). Just some ideas. Dan

I'd love to go, but I work on the weekends. So I can never make it to any runs or rallies, which is getting old.

We (some other non-XSs) are planning on riding up to Anacortes but have not worked out the route. We will come back by way of Port Townsend and US101.

            keystone ferry

Good to hear. Keep in mind it's the fall schedule keyston-port townsend ferry leaves every hour and a half. Last ferry to port townsend is at 10:45 pm. SR 20 on Whidbey Island is a leasurely 45-50 mph drive. Fort Casey has the old "big guns". It's just before the Keystone Ferry. Also Classic Road might be a cool photo under the sign. If you come by way of I-5 we could meet at Skagit Power Sports in Burlington and we could drive into Annacortes together. So far looks like just two of us XS's, but I did not email/pm anyone from Oregon or Idaho. Hope others will make it.

Thats okay buddy, there is always next year. I am going to try to make it to Idaho for the 30th anniversary rally and make the oyster run too if I can. Sometimes demestic responsibilities come before fun and adventure. "Your house needs to be in order or the rest won't be"

I'm sorry too that I couldn't make it. I'm curious; did most establishments push oysters? Heh, how were they? Great pics, I'll be Deception Pass was a real hit for those that did that route. Did you get the T-shirt? I'm going to meet up with you one of these days, but....my license says I still need an escort, although I don't act like it. Hmmm.
Watch the slick spots; it's supposed to start raining soon.

2007 oyster run 2008 XS rally

                      Gyroloose,
Yep I got a hoody with the 2007 oyster run logo on it $40.00 for SWMBO and spent the rest of my allowance on oysters and beer. I had 1 1/2 doz oysteres all eaither cooked on the half shell on a grill or boiled in butter and garlic, oh and some fries. They were XSeptionally good. Glad you enjoyed the pics, Im gonna try to post some more. We are so close we are nieghbors . we definately should get together. How is your bike problem? Solved? PM me and I'll see if I can help you fix it. I plan to makethe Idaho rally next year but we will see. it's a long way off. Maybe if we get some good late fall weather we can make a run somewhere. I need a new back tire soon. Deception pass had it's fair share of bikes. Great ride through there. What do you mean about escort? You joking? Ill escort you, that's the way I ride (ahead of the pack)
                      Dan

                            I made it!

Yep, I was there (on Vyger). We did not park on the main drag. Hung around to the end of the 2:00 Casack (sp?) show, then headed for Keystone. Spent 3 1/2 hours waiting for the boat. Along with thousands of other bikers and cages.

The wait was actually pretty interesting. Since when is it a bad thing to stand around an talk about our bikes.

                            Got home after midnight.
