                  • Tis with a heavy heart my friends that Linda and I may not be able to attend XS East this year unless my bike registration comes in the mail tomorrow at this time. If the registration comes I should be able to get the bike inspected early Friday morning and we will be on our way BUT if I don't receive it I'm posting this message to let you folks know that our room may be available if needed.

I'll confirm this tomorrow at this time.

We're hoping for the best 'cause we both really want to meet all yinz guys and gals and of course ride, eat, sleep, repeat
1980 XS1100G "Dolly G" Full Dresser (with a coat of many colors )
                    1979 XS1100SF (stock-euro mods planned)
                    1984 XV700L Virago (to be hot-modded)
                    1983 XJ750MK Midnight Maxim (semi-restored DD)
                    1977 XS650D ( patiently awaiting resto)

Sometimes it takes a whole tank of gas before you can think straight.

                          • Last minute notes...

First: thanks all for the quick responses to supper choices with such short notice. Helps to smooth things out a bit.

Second: kickstands up 9AM both days.

Third: the last part of our Saturday route - Rt 44 between Carter Camp and Rt. 6 intersection - has been turned to gravel, thanks to PennDOT. It is officially closed to "Local Traffic Only" although as late as Sunday it was still a through road, but now made of hard pack. So we will not take that part of the route. Instead we will stay on Rt 144 north to Galeton, stop for a quick break at the Acorn gas station there (small lot, may be crowded), then head west on Rt 6 back to Coudersport. This adds 10 miles to the route.

Fourth: we ride rain or shine. Saturday's ride is just a ride, no touristy stops. Sunday we do have two touristy stops, the Bridge is all outdoors, the Elk museum is indoors. If there is some issue with the weather (being cautious with words trying not to jinx the weekend here) that you wish not to experience you are welcome to find short return routes. If it is for some reason unsafe we will of course be spectators of the weather.....

Fifth: I will be checking tires!

Sixth: most of these roads are gently curving, however a few in spots may have a sharp curve so pay attention. We will be riding in a spritely manner, unless road conditions (again cautious use of words) require a more sedate approach. I have a radar detector so stay close.

Seventh: Supper for both Sat and Sun is 6PM. Start gathering at 5:30ish. Remember the restaurant is Kaytee's it is 2 doors down from the motel.

Last: Thanks all for coming, have fun!

                              • Late post…

Due to computer problems (main and backup PC both failed!) the rally web page is very late this year and is very basic. Link is:

                                http://www.appleattic.net/xs11_east_2016/default.htm

Marty send me maps and some GPS files; all are available on the web page.

Hope everyone has a good time!
