But it is at mechanics shop. I am shopping for some good stock take off parts...have a plan to get it renewed.

It was running, started making a pleasant whirring sound like a honda gold wing. I knew something was wrong. Rode in in for checking...need engine overhaul. This will take a while. Wife said "You need a new bike..." Sometimes I can be agreeable.

I have had so much fun at XSeast in the past, on that old bike and in that area... I may have worn it out, but I had fun and I want to do it again.

Y'all have fun & keep the shiney side up.
    Miss Ya'

        Hi Ken,
Thanks for encouragement. Only 1600 made? I did not know this. Where can it be looked up? It is a 2002, the first year a Firefighter special edition was offered. Titled and sold as a "shrine motorcycle" HD used the same special edition program for the shriners, peace officers edition an FF edition.
I thought it may be rare & collectable, but FF editions seem to bring no more than any other similar model in like condition. I like it and it is worth much more to me than any one else.

How is your HD? Overheating is really bad for them. It may have shortened the life of my motor some. I will try to do better next time. Hope yours is fine.

Have fun at XSeast. My wife is having some health troubles, so I am staying a little closer to home lately.
It is a great big beautiful world out there

        • Hey there folks,

Just a quick note to inform all of my/our safe arrival home today. Ofc it is safer for us since we TRAILER/TRUCK to and from the rally!
George dropped me off at home about 1:30, got all of my junk unloaded from his truck, and unhitched my trailer, and then he left for home, so he should already be there, but may also be unloading/unpacking, as to why he hasn't posted yet.

I'll post some photos also, and later some youtube links once I get the "videos" processed and uploaded. I was able to rig up a poorman's GoPro, what I affectionately call my Godzilla-cam MkII this year using my GPS holder and a few strategically placed zip ties!
The audio will probably be just wind noise since it wasn't behind any fairing, but you'll be able to appreciate a few sections of the roads we were on.

I actually made it home in time to join the family for a visit to the nephews for the cookout dinner, as part of how we American's experience this Memorial day. So...please take a moment of silence and remember and honor all of the brave veterans that gave the ultimate price for our way of life!

To fix the problem one should not make more assumptions than the minimum needed.

                          • I got in just before dark. It took me about 500 miles to get home. I avoided rain until just 50 miles from home. For the most part, the weather was great.

                            • Got home shortly after 8:30pm stops were: one for just a pee, two for a pee and a tank full of fuel , two meal stops, one traffic jam in Hamilton, one drive by accident.

Great weekend! I guess that's why we keep coming back!

                              • I just wanted to say again how much fun I had riding on sunday. Wish I could have made the Saturday ride. I don't have any buddies with bikes so I usually ride by myself. I finally got to push my bike more than I ever personally had on the second half of the ride on sunday. I got up behind George and we really hit some good curves going up fenwick mountain to nettie and I loved it. I really hope to make it to the xs southeast this year, hope I can.
