sorry Phil those numbers are more from the ST1100...your mileage isnt any better than mine (comparing your XS to mine) but you should have a greater range...I go on reserve at about 140 miles how much further than that i could go has not yet been established with me on Swampygirl. Typically 150 miles to fill up...so that averages out to 30 miles per gal...thats a little on the low side...but I'm never in economy mode either...

    Hi Marty,
Let 'em sweat like you used to do to me.
It's amazing how far even a special will go when there is no gas station.
With a few extra cans we can rescue any who really do run out.

I'm in the habit of carrying an extra gallon of gas in my panniers just in case...

Yeah George I like to keep the gas stops around 80 miles if I can, so the Special riders don't get nervous. I have a fairly good section that I thought had a gas station but looking on Google Earth it looks closed. That section turns into 100 miles between gas stops. This is not an unusual problem when planning routes in very rural areas.

I'll keep working on it. I have a couple of local scouts that are giving me terrific help.

I won't know whether or not I can attend until the last minute. I'm not in a position where I can plan to come, much as I want to.
