            Rick,
Glad to hear you are home. Rest well & heal strong. Spring time is coming.
Sorry to hear of mishap. No jokes about ice from GA today.

Take care (I believe you will have plenty of help with that.)

PS the rest of you SOXS, have fun at the show & no I will not be making it this year.
It is a great big beautiful world out there

              Thx for the thoughts guys.
Yes it is an ugly sight wilth cast off. Lots of metal things and damaged tissue.
Cabin fever is setting in and it's not even officially winter yet.

Some of the SOXS and FOXS attended the show. Followed by a gathering at the Loose Moose.

On Sunday Tinman905 and I went to check up on BDF. I can now report the curmudgeon's sense of humour is intact though he is still in some pain. The surgeon appears to have done a good job as the toes are pointing towards the front and the heel is at the back

'What' description is very important, but 'where' can be very important also. Can I assume the description of the foot includes the location at the end of his leg, not in his mouth, where it was sometimes found in the past...

Nice of you guys touring the countryside on both sides of the border, visiting invalids and offering beer and cheer.

                      Hi Marty,
Foot is indeed at the end of the leg. Attached with everything in the surgeons tool box. Plates Pins Screws Rods nuts and bolts. Some on the inside others on the outside I was told. Spared the gory details and did not see for myself All wrapped up in a splint and bandage until the swelling goes down.

Got called into the Ortho clinic today for an inspection and a new cast.
The surgeon, Dr. Frankenstien,( pronounced Fronk-in-steen and bears a remarkable resemblence to actor Gene Wilder) liked his work but I'm not sure that it was my foot. It's not even on straight and is held on with staples. It is certainly not the right size or colour.
Nothing that 10 more weeks in a cast, one more surgery and some rehab won't fix (according to Dr.F and his creepy assistant)

Many thanks to Tinman and Maximphil for the visit.
