River Maya is awesome if it's the place I'm thinking of. If my ride is ready I'd love to join you guys. I'm right off 23 across from Sussex Motorsports. With respect to roads, Rt 565 from Sussex up into NY in either direction is great. Beaver Run road is another; great twisties but not much scenery there. Mostly farms and woods but it lets out not to far from the Chatterbox in Augusta. Decent food; nothing to go out of the way for. There's also a place I heard of called the Hawks Nest north of Port Jervis. I think I know where it's at but every time my club goes up there I'm doing something else.

With respect to 23, there's always monster traffic northbound coming down the mountain before Munsonhurst Road and all the way through Franklin to Mabie Street during the rush hours. There's also intermittent blockages at the 94 intersection. The downgrade at Munsonhurst can be a little hairy during bad weather or for an inexperienced rider. I'd say if you wanted to come up 23, reroute up Clinton, Canistear, or Germantown roads to Warwick turnpike, come back down either 94 or 565 to 23, then continue up 23 to High Point. High Point charges $7 or $10 per vehicle for entry from May to September if I remember the rates from the last time I was up there (maybe 2 years ago?).

You probably know the roads better than me up there then.I lived in Montague for a year and used to travel Rt 206 every day.River Maya is a Mexican place on the right hand side past the bagel place. The bagel place had a fire truck parked outside it.High Point is right off Rt 23.

Oldyam, I hope it works out with the docs. I was thinking of another place obviously not River Maya but I know exactly the bagel place with the fire truck. It's still there. We can go up to high point first then we can keep going up 23 northbound for about half a mile, hang a left and detour through Stokes forest down to Deckertown Rd and 206. Then it's 206 down to the restaurant.

This is going to turn out perfect so long as the weather holds. I just got word about two hours ago I'm leaving for St. Louis on the 19th for three weeks. This would be nice before I'm screwed for the last half of the summer not that I've even ridden yet but that's for another post...

As of right now I'm in. I have some carb issues that need ironing out but that shouldn't take too long.

OK-How many are actually going? If most are not then we can reschedule for another time.If the park charges per vehicle then how about the meeting place being the Sussex Airport?

What time would you want to meet at the Airport and what is the ride route?

Have a feeling that this ride lost interest a while ago.

Its kinda hot for riding. I've become accustomed to wearing my jacket. This weekend is soposed to get hot again.
Maybe we could try for the end on next month?
