    Sport-touring.net Great Barrington Meet & Greet 2008

Hi folks. Just wanted to post a note specific for the Northeast folks, specifically if you're in or near New England.

If you're itchin' for an excuse to get together for a group ride, the guys over in Sport-touring.net Region 6 are organizing a Meet & Greet in Great Barrington, MA on April 26. The northern folks are meeting in Rindge, NH and the southern folks are meeting in Windsor, CT. I've gone on a few rides organized by these folks and they are always fun. It's a lot of fun seeing our older bikes next to the state-of-the-art bikes and it's a helluva lot of fun showing that the old bikes can still keep up. If you're interested, the link to the forum thread is here:

Yes, this was a great ride with 16 bikes from CT and Long Island NY, (by ferry) with a total 63 converging on Great Barrington MA. The XS11 was able to keep up fine with all the latest sport bikes, one bike was just picked up 4 hours before the meet, and I rode two up with my son in back. Sport riders tend to ride singly so I noticed. My vintage hardware was well received though it is set up for touring more than sport with a Vetter fairing and Krauser bags.

Sorry I missed it. When it came down to it I couldn't afford the gas this weekend. There's a great pic of your bike here:
