Hey Ham . I would like to . There are many variables at this point . One being my ability to cross the border with a criminal record . Also my bike is still in the shop at this time . I may have to plan for next year . Axel

3 days in the shop and counting . I'm biting my nails . Thanks Jim and everyone else for the input . What sort of non-biking activities could one expect at a rally ? I imagine rest would be much needed after the long days ride . Axel

Hi Axel,
Well there are group dinners and a lot of talk about bikes and other topics. Some stories contain more facts than others
Lots of laughs not much sleep.

Friday is usually just a meet and eat/drink and catch up on old times. Usually there is a long ride Sat, followed by a dinner and awards/door prizes Sat night. Sun some folks go home Sunday so usually a shorter ride and a cook out or get your own dinner and more partying. Some will watch NASCAR on Sunday night.
Even if you come on Sat night it will be worth it. There will be lots going on Sat night is usually the highlight. We will have a campfire at the motel and lots of good times. Check the real thread for the rally for details on where we are eating and ride times.
Every rally works the same unless it rains then we have been known to go to movies and just socialize all day.

Hi Brent,
Will you be coming the furthest on a Harley again this year Looking for ward to seeing you again.
Gary let's leave a map and directions at the front desk so he can catch up.

Gary, I agree that if someone can not do entire rally, it is still worth going for Sat night. Happened to me 2 or 3 times. Thanks for leaving maps, iterary etc at front desk. Yet, I have enjoyed the fun of just coming into town and looking for bikes. Schedule is usually predictable. Route always good - beautiful , twisty scenic...etc, food good to very good, and company IS XSessively wonderful. Even with a little rain, some will ride. I understand that it is enternaining watching me ride around in circles, trying to light a wet cigar.
I will likely be riding the furthest on a Harley...But jet mech Marty lives about 50 miles further South than I do, and he is planning on riding his XS1100. And Gary could be hands down winner for the Harley award for trailering the shortest distance.

Can't make the rally but the shirt sure is nice. I'll wear it in honor of those attending.
I hope to make every rally one year.
I would probably need THIS to do it comfortably.

Well XSives, it looks like I'm gonna have to miss this year's XS East Rally in N.Y.
My Father has been having quite a round with cancer so I've been "filling in" quite a bit.
Two farms, 150 acres total, 45 to 47 acres of which are hay fields, 45 head of black angus cattle. You can get the picture.
I've fed the cattle all winter, raised 20 calves and only "lost" one, got 7 acres of hay due to bail today. 'Not bad for a "green horn" farmer that works full time in an underground coal mine.
I thought that a day only had 24 hrs until this Monday,,,, 'worked 10 hrs underground Sunday night, came home Monday morning and spent at least 7 hrs. on a tractor, -- -- -- -- up for 29 hrs just to get three hrs sleep and then another 10 hr shift underground!
I managed to get home early today/tonight, will sleep a bit and then start on getting the 7 acre field round-bailed. 'Sure do wish I could put that much saddle time on a bike!
I was really looking forward to 'Wingin it that way, but, like the old saying goes, you gotta make hay while the sun shines.
You guys and gals have a GREAT rally, take care, and ---- RIDE XSively!
I wish everyone a safe journey and a great rally.

Greg

One morning I had the KLX parked in the pasture field checking on the cattle. I hadn't been home from work yet [rode directly to the farm] so I still had my dinner bucket strapped to the back rack.
A vehicle stopped in the nearby county road and asked for directions, spotted the KLX, THEN added, "I thought that farmers all had ATV's???"
