  • Lost Rally Wisc. Update

Hayward Wisconsin, everyone invited. here are a few motels close by, Flat Creek is a few miles and has a pool/bar and good food, the other 2 are closer/walkable and not as fancy but nice. There are others if you want to google. I have camping room if you want. I do have a pretty small place so unless it rained it wouldn't be real practical but I won't let anyone get wet or be in harms way if a storm blew up rest assured. Saturdays ride will head north and will be in Garys Dragon Tamers memory. I have a good size grill, one stall garage, music plenty of firewood and will have food, beer, rum and soft drinks Bring whatever you like if you want. any questions or additional info drop me a private message for my number and location. If anyone has the banner and wants to send it it that would be cool too.

Gary's son is over on .org wondering how to get ahold of you Ken. He want's to attend but he, or anyone else for that matter, doesn't know where it's to be held or how to contact you other than right here.

        Hello All,
I am Dragontamer's son, and I am honored that the ride is in his memory. I believe that I am going to have the honor of tending to his his beloved "Firedragon", and I would like to do my best to attend. Papa Smurf has also been persistent to make sure that I get him the information for this ride (he doesn't have internet access or anything). I have initiated the process of signing up on ".com" as well, but just started that. Could someone PM me the details of the ride, if they have them (haywardguy929's address, etc.)? I know my dad was very active on here, had some great comradery, and spoke very highly of many of you. It takes a precise quantity of alcohol for me to even come close to his story telling ability (more than 7 beers...lol), and I probably won't get close to that while having to navigate on 2 wheels, but I would enjoy hearing the "other side" of your riding adventures as well. I look forward to hearing from you all and hopefully meeting up...

Spoke to Arlan aka Cruiser the other night and put together a tentative itinerary . Looks something like this , show up friday noon or so, hang out, I'll have a cook out and stuff to drink, crash whenever you want.Saturday, 8:30 breakfast at the Coop in town, gas up and kickstands up for the Memorial ride starting at 9:30 from my place. After the ride we will go to the LCO casino for the Buffet and then back to my place. Nothings carved in stone and I'm pretty flexible if anyone has and issues or suggestions. Any questions or comments message me,thanks Ken.

Stopped in and talked to the owners, they are giving discounts on rooms, just mention the Lost Rally. They are clean and its a well run place, just no frills. I'm sure they will be the best priced of any and its real close to my place.

If you want a web page with all the info let me know and I'll post it on my domain. I've done this for a few other rallies. I can include maps and area information as well.

...and I'm working. Though, to be perfectly honest, every weekend I have free I've already filled up with something until October sometime.
I've been in more than one Hemisphere, and I wrote a book to help you do it too (or just prepare better for that week long road trip). Going Small, not just for the little guys.

Hayward to Ashland via Chequamegon forest

The ride will run out of Hayward on Highway 77 To Clam Lake, then to County road GG to Mellon. There's a spectacular state park (Copper Falls) but I'm not sure if people want to take the time to go check out the falls and rock formations might be better to just head north to Ashland. We can grab a bite to eat there and decide how everyone feels. Depending on how people feel we can head north up the bay to Washburn and Bayfield From Ashland and go east and swing back that way. We could go as far over as the Brule area if people are up for it. Feel free to google map it and give me some feedback.
I'm sure I'll discuss it with Cruiser and get his thoughts too. Basicly I want to show you all a neat part of the country and be flexible as possible for everyone. Just a note, heading back from Ashland would be about 2 hours of riding.

That route looks to be only @ 134 miles, so I wouldn't think there would be any problems going to look at rocks and waterfalls.. as long as you could keep Greg from trying to snuggle.

Officially throwing my hat in the ring for a "Will probabably be there.."
