    Starter O-Ring

The OEM O-Ring for the starter has a ridiculous high price, so I decided to figure out the correct size and purchase my own. The correct size is 3MM thick X 43MM ID (49MM OD). I bought mine from tool supplier ZORO ($2.59 for a 10 pk) but surely many O-Ring suppliers should stock it. When they start leaking, what a mess it can make. Oil all over the engine and left rear motor mount.

I've taken them to the local hardware store and matched them as best I can. Results were sucessful.

Thanks for posting the correct dimensions!

Yep. Also, a cool hack is to wrap some Teflon tape around the starter O-Ring groove, then install the old compressed O-Ring and that will get you down the road for a while.
