  • Australia, land of the unique!!!!!

Australia, my home, land of some of the most unique animal species in the World...and when it comes to my 1978 XS eleven, the land of the non existant four-into-two exhaust, any sort of fairing or luggage (hard panniers and top box) to fit it and and as for drop bars (crash bars) with highway pegs are concerned, the last were seen sailing out of Sydney heads on the way to Moses so he could burn across the desert in his Triumph!

Yes folks, Australia...land of rare beauty and even rarer XS bits.

Take pity on this fellow ex colonial...throw me a freaking bone here...where on God's green Earth exists stock (ish) four-into-two exhausts and all the goodies to dress up my pretty beast

Thanks fellow excessives, I'll fly the flag down under no matter what.

Mac would be your best bet if you need a complete system. As for any other goodies, just ask, someone here either has 'em or knows where to get 'em.

Yeah, a Mac exhaust will replace everything and be relatively easy to ship down under. I feel for you on the bags and fairing though. There rare and getting rarer and are expensive to ship, even here in the U.S. I can only imagine what it'd cost to get them there from here.

Bow to the Ebay gods, they may hear your pleas and get you what you need. I see crash bars fairly often on there. Good luck!!

          "Hangin' low down under"

MAC 4 into 2, though it doesn't say it, sort of requires that you remove the centerstand. (The part of the center stand that you place your foot on hits the left muffler and cant retract all the way)
A little creative bending, and one can make it work, though it "Hangs low, down under"

            Thanks Champions.

To webbcraft2150, JWSaunders, TopCatGr58 and prometheus578, I can't thank you enough, I've already scored a Yamaha Windjammer with a perfect screen (genuine part) and top bracket, sadly the panniers were already sold but the engine gaurds look pretty good. I'm way ahead of where I was a couple of days ago. I also scored a set of big handlebars, off a Goldwing I think and the extra long clutch cable, I happily installed them with the cable only to discover the front brake line is about 5 inches too short, Isn't tinkering fun?

Oh, by the way, the Victoria Bitter went down a treat...

            Cheers fellas,

            Dan.

Was glad to help. As was mentioned before, this site will help you thru any issue you could have with these beasts. Parts 'n stuff is still out there. You will find yourself scooping up stuff you may not need now but "just might" in the future. Most of us have boxes of parts we have stashed away. The XS11 was, and still is a major milestone in motorcycles. It is our duty to preserve what is left of them.

Find Tiaro motorcycle wreckers... got a pick-up thingie from them, I think theyre from oz...
And they had lots of other parts then... look em up.
