79 xs11 special stock exhaust

Would anyone have a "shot" muffler for a 79 xs11 special that I could have to do some exploratory surgery too? I am seriously considering having someone "make" a stock muffler (maybe stainless steel) and need one to take apart to see how complicated it would be. I've been thinking about this every since I saw the ss header system from Norway. I would pay for the shipping on one that is rotted out and still has the baffle in it. What is everyones thoughts? Is there even enough demand for something like this?

.. it would be cool if there was an american company that made such a thing- it would be way cheaper- it would save us on the huge taxes and shipping from other contries

I agree the average person could not afford a $1,000+ exhaust system. Find me an ole muffler and I want to look into it.

i know the short mufflers appeared on all models of the bikes in 81,

what differences were there with the special vs. standard?

from what i noticed is the expansion chambers are gone for the special version, was this feature really needed?

will the special pipes fit the 79 model year, if i just got special pegs mounts? confusion confusion...
