While out on a test ride, wich went well, thank goodness. See "cutting out". I applied the brakes and got a weird pulsation. I stood up while riding, in a safe place, and noticed that both front rotors are waving back and forth, about 1/4 inch or so. Maybe less, left side rotor warm after the ride, dragging. Could this have happened when the prev. owner laid it down? The wheel seems to be perfectly straight, the line on my tire wasn't doing the wave. Is there a way to get these turned to remove the wave, or if I replace, which will prob. happen, can I use dif years, like the 1980 slotted rotors?

Probably a goes without saying... but did you make sure that all the bolts to the rotors are tight ... and that it's seated correctly?
If it is warped that bad, your brakes don't release that much when you let off the handle.. and it's going to drag no matter what you adjust unless you just back the pads out completely and don't use it.. (Which I don't suggest) Somebody on here.. (ummm ok.. it mighta been me) had adjusted their front brakes out because they were dragging. "They" had a blowout on the rear.... couldn't use a front brake... couldn't use a rear. It was a fun ride.. (From what I hear!)

"Brake Dancin'"
No... there is no adjustment on the rotors. They sit flat on the hub and are bolted tight. Being snug and sitting flush with the hub is the only non-adjustment there is.
Trbig's adjustment, I believe, was to use a screwstick and pry apart the brake pads so that they didn't contact the rotor, and then just not touch the brake lever at all. Of course... when "someone" needed the brakes and squeezed the lever... they moved out a little, but not enough to contact the rotor and stop the bike as needed, if I 'membrane correctly."Damn it Jim, I'm a doctor, not a mechanic!' Gettin' Bent outa shape!
Hey AppoloAnt,
Yeah, they probably got bent during the crash! You can put any year style of XS rotor on any XS, so the slotted ones would be just fine. If you have the $$ you can do what AkMac
(See Chrome Goodness thread in this forum), he's put on the aftermarket EBC floating rotors style!!
With that much wobble you can't really do anything with them like trying to shave them down or such! Get thee to Ebay!
