Fork seals

    SO...after a ride or before the next one, I clean the tubes, removing debris, get them smooth, then I apply some oil to the uppers to allow them to slide more easily into the seals.

    TC, I agree with the cleaning part, but oiling them? Wouldn't the fact that there is oil on them, and the dust sticking to the oil, increase the wear of the seals?

      I only oil mine when the bike sits for an extended period of time.

        More power to you Gary, no doubt that Standard will still be running in 5 years. I bought two sets of the leakproofs, just incase the replacement doesn't go quite right,,or I miss a burr,,,got to go get some fork oil,,lol,forgot all about it. Senility is setting in.
